Hi everyone! I interviewed with ASA on last Tuesday the 22 and it was one of the best interviews I've been on in my life. The Interviewees were really professional and nice but particular on what they were looking for. We started with about 22, they cut to 14 then 9 and while I was getting my testing done, I heard a few of the 9 that were sent over did not pass the agility test. My advice is to LISTEN, follow instructions and show lots of personality. And relax. Good luck to all!! Because it's a growing airline, i think it has great potential to allow the flight attendants to grow as well. |

Did you get hired? How long did it take either way? |

ThatsQueenMary2U in Pace, Florida said: Did you get hired? How long did it take either way? well, the interviewee said to give her 2-4 weeks to hear back but according to everyone at the clinic and the other FA's i've talked to; once you get sent to do the background, agility and drug test you're pretty much in there. I was there from 8-5:30 and all this took place in that one day. |

I was the 1st to interview and immediately went for my drug test, fingerprint, agility test and physical. I was done by 1500. I hopped on the plane home at 1745.... People I know that fly with ASA seem to think I am in there, but I am not getting excited until I get "the call"... |

Hi All, Just had time to post this. Day one
Most of the rest of the day is paper work and I mean lots of paper work. Very short breaks and you DO NOT want to return to class late as it could come back to haunt you big time. At the end of the day and video on airport security to really blow your mind and then another test not really difficult if you pay attention to the video. You MUST pass this test for your SIDA badge. If you fail it you must retake it right then and their. Tips on training: bring plenty of single bills or change. Eat quickly as time goes past real fast. Bring all your dependent SS#s, and don't forget your passport. Hotel is fine and you are a solo in the room. Hope I make it passed day 2. Peter |

Hey Peter! Thanks for the post, shall I send you a care package with some yummy baked treats for your breaks? Wish I were there too! How did the boarding announcement test go? I am going to come to your graduation so no more talk of "if I make it" ok?? You rock! Jazz |

Hi All, thanks for all the well wishes. Day Two: FAR's for a few hours, Flight Attendant Manual (what a read that thing is), group split in half one group to uniform store while the other reviews PA's. To say the least a very long day again. No test today but Thursday we take one and they it gets harder as we go. Trainging all week with observation flights scheduled for Sat/Sun. Our instructors are very helpful and informative and willing to help in any way possible. To date 5 people have been given occurrences for late for class, they are not kidding here so plan on being early.
As you can see I am punchy......... Have a great day. Peter |

Hi Queenie, Better them than me........... Dat three Kind of busy with SIDA Badge stuff and Company ID so that took almost the entire morning. Review of FAR, FAM and appearance regs. or test Thursday in AM. After lunch nothing but announcemnets and I did OK but need to practice and spit them out quicker. The instructors help but can only help so much, my advise..learn them before you arrive and all will be fine. Some news about future classes....the have training scheduled up til June with March and many others havin two classes a month. At that rae reserve will be really short, pretty much like I am..... Tomorrow starts the killer days with all emerg. equipment and the start of drills. They say now it gets serious......they really kill me..... PS...DO NOT EAT AT THE REST...AT HOLIDAY INN SELECT....IT STINKS.....Ruby Tues. next door to hyatt is fine and so is the candy machine I found....... Hope all my pals are fine and miss you all. Hello All, Thursady test was on FAR's, FAM, and apperance regs. I missed one question for a 96 becasue I studily read into the question and got cute with it. My advice read ALL the CHOICES even if you know you have the answer already. Aftertest it was lesson on al, sfaety equipment and the method and termionology of pre flight checks. At ASA do not use the word STORE....items at ASA are STOWED!!!!!! After the lesson we had four stations set up by instructors and the class went to each station to explain the item, say the pre flight check requirements and tell what the device does. Friday morning test is on safety equipment. To date all exams have been mulitple choice with 25 questions so not much room for error. Sorry for any typos but I am up at 5 class 7:30 -5:00pm and the late dinners and study and sleep. To top it all off NO BOSTON LEAGLE on the 40" flat screen TV in our rooms. Once again our instructors are great and do help as much as possible........one applicant did not return to class this AM so we are down to 19 people. I go on my observation flight this Sat. to Little Rock Arkansas, I had to look that one up on the map, three others in my class are joining me so i guess the palne will be full. I stay in Little Rock for 25 minutes and fly back to Atlanta, how nice. We board with passengers and deplane with passengers so i am wondering what we are supposed to observe??? Anyway time to study see you guys later, so keep....in touch with yourselves...later gators. peter |

Friday: Tested on aircraft emergency equipment, names , what each does, what each contains, how do FA's account for the items in preflight checks. Again 25 multiple choice questions and this time no errors as I read each one carefully. The lessons for Friday were flight procedures and what a plateful of information given and we will be tested Monday on it. Now I need to digest it all, put the lessons in order and understand duty in/out procedures recite more announcements. Another applicant left class but i think he had another offer for a job. We are down to 18 from original 20. Hope all is well and I am going to let my hair down somewhat. |

Hi All, Well it is Sat. had an observation flight (why I do not know) with 3 others to, yep, Little rock Arkansas, landed and turned right around. CRJ 200 with I FA. Very nice crew, too crowded to shadow the FA and like the sign says, Little Rock Arkansas, more pigs than people. Didn't reall get to learn anything but everyone was pleasant. One thing to remember.....when you have a conventional watch and fly to a location that has a time zone change.......remember not to almost miss your flight!!!!!!! Today i asked for a list of Churches in the area...the front desk rep. didn't have any info on churches, places to eat (other than Ruby Tuesday's {good} and the Holiday Inn Select (bad, very bad. Great area, bring supplies for yourself or it will be a long stay. If you need a hair cut, get it at home.........unless you know RJ. have a great night, miss you all. Big test on flight procedures Monday. Peter |

Hi All, Day six of class work started with an exam of flight procedures, I made one error changing a correct answer to incorrect but still passed so no big deal. The lesson plan was a killer. Safety announcements, emergency drill announcements and sequences. Very very specific and demanding. Practiced egresses out of CRJ 200 and know know how someone else hurt herself. We have a test in am on the lesson plan and then 0400 starts the rest of week starting Wednesday on emergency procedures on the 200,700 and ATR72. Today two classmates did not pass the exam and another left class with ASA allowing her to start class over again in May as she felt she was just not ready. ASA seems to be bending over backwards for applicants if the applicant is sincere.

LOL Hope they had the blue mat taped down this time - that last step is a doozie!! So you've got between 1 1/2 and 2 weeks left, and still no failed exams? Excellent!!! I'm going out of town again this weekend (ORF this time) but wnen I return on Sunday, why don't you be on the lookout for a day when you'd like to get out for a while? |

You rightttttttttt......... My first early day 0430-1530 was lots of fun (right).......hands on look at CRJ 200....lesson plan in class and then the first of our drills.........man what a long long day. We all made our drills and have two more early days..... I will say this bring a warm coat, hat and gloves if you don't like cold weather.
Well have am exam on lesson and walk through of 700 and second round of drills. Had appearance compliance check today and people are still getting nailed for stuff while others get away with stuff so read the information and do the best you can. Have a great night, Peter |
