Hi all, As you know I have left ASA for a yet to be determined start date with Allegiant Air in Orlando/Sanford.....before any of you head off to Atlanta for training I just want to save you some trouble....especially if you do not have a car. You will be staying at the Hyatt Place South, next door is a Ruby Tuesday's good place to eat. The rest. at the Holiday Inn Select (in the same pkng lot as Hyatt) is a big waste of time). Your room will have a mini fridge and is comfortable for one person with s desk and study area, free internet and if you like to hook up a lap top to watch your own DVD's bring RCA cables or equiv. with you. The hotel has a cont. breakfast and the shuttle will get yoy to ASA and airport on the observation flights. Bring toiletries to last four weeks as there is no CVS or such near the hotel. No washing/dryer at hotel and some brought the tide tablets that you can wash clothing in the bath tub. If you have a car or hook up with someone who does a short 5 minute ride down Sullivan is a place called Joe's, a good change of pace, reasonable and bar. Keep the car full as no gas station is "around" the corner and if you go to get gas go in the daytime, as the area around the stations by the airport are somewhat out of the way. Bring a mini mag flashlight or equiv. that you will carry in the FAM at all times and have a watch that displays seconds either by a sweep hand or digital. You need these items to be compliant. Turn you cell phones off in class and leave the area for breaks to you your phone calls, I went to the third floor as it was less crowded and DO NOT TAKE THE STAIRS between floors as there is no re-entry, that's from experience LOL. If you have any other items you need to have addressed let me know here or at ltpbk@yahoo.com and i will get back to you. Have a great time, study and enjoy yourself . Peter |

Thanks :) I was at their interview a little over a week ago. I think ASA treated everyone with a lot of respect. They are upfront with you the whole time. I was very impressed. Just try not to be nervous, wear a suit, look people in the eyes when you speak to them, smile and show your customer service side. They are very sweet and friendly. |

I was interviewed recently ( about a week and a half ago) I went through all the physicals, fingerprinting and agility. How long did it take them to get back to you with a class date? I am beginning to worry! |

Thanks Flora! I went to an open house for Omni Air Int'l about a week ago, and they showed a video, we stood up and spoke about customer service, etc., and then we filled out applications and had face to face interviews. Is this somewhat like what ASA does? |

I interviewed the 24th of January. Got the call Feb 1st. I dont know if mine went quicker cause I already had an airline and a SIDA badge, who knows. I have heard if they do all the testing, etc that you are in there. |

Is this somewhat like what ASA does? Yes, pretty much. Like I said, they are up front with you. They have everyone introduce themselves and give a brief talk. Then they do some elimination after that. Then those that are left read announcements in front of the panel. Then more elimination is done. Then I think you watch the short film on the history of ASA. |

Hi Flora! I live in PNS. I am going to commute to ATL, so I will end up with a crashpad Hi Peter - would that comment about the SIDA badge be directed at me??? I am sooooooo excited! :) |

Maybe moving to Florida or surrounding area is a better idea if I'll be making a major move anyway? Is there State income Tax in GA or Fl? |

Jazz 8 months ago |
Fry Are you not moving to Buckhead? Commuting from Florida when on reserve will be very stressful! |
|
Florainvegas in Henderson, Nevada 8 months ago |
Hi Jazz!! Buckhead from what I understand is wonderful. I am such a novice and still "wet behind the ears" that I will be seeking guidance and tutaledge from those more experienced. I get lots of funny not so funny and interesting e mail all day from my friends and I have begun to pass it on to you and Pete if that is okay? |
|

No state income tax in FL. If I were to move, I would move to ATL. The reason I am not moving is because of my kids. I dont want to uproot them and my parents live just down the street and they help me alot with my kids. I am going to get a crashpad while on reserve. Jazz...are you in my class, which starts on Monday? |

Jazz said: You are already in if you did the fingerprints, medical and agility tests! Call them to confirm to settle your nerves and get packing! Jazz, Mary, Peter!! I just called Pam at ASA. She was so nice. She says not to worry, she's waiting on my background only ( my right pinkie wouldn't give them a print!) As soon as that come in, she does have an offer for me! (and the March 17th class is still open!) |

MelissaBrooke in Atlanta, Georgia said: Does anyone know about how long the wait is from the time you get interviewed to the time you start training? Melissa, you have to wait for your background and drug test results to come back before they call with an offer to start a training class. I've been waiting two weeks. |

Hey guys! I just got back from an Interview with ASA on FEb 28th, and got an invite for a spot to train for ASA flight attendant! Im am still pending my finger print and drug test as well...but passed everything else! Anybody have an interview around that date as well? If so have you already heard a training date? I am going to have to relocate, any ideas on the best way to do that? |
|
Florainvegas in Henderson, Nevada 8 months ago |
Hi Sash, Congrats! You'll be offered a training date once they complete the background. Guess it depends on on how extensive your background is. As far as the relocation, I have been on the Internet and I'm sure there will be lots of new friends during training to exchange information with. At least your not moving from the West side of the country to the East side like me. Still very exciting! |
