I mean really, now I am sure the Delta VP I spoke with last week was telling the truth. Delta hired Leaders and Delta hired FOLLOWERS. Carmen.... you are not a leader.. but a follower.
It is a known inside fact that Delta hired a broad-band of people.... Carmen.. you're at the bottom... ILOVE and FAB are at the top. See the difference: They are professional.

NATASHA, Hi. Thanks for the encouragement for OS. It would cost me over $500 for plane ticket and hotel to attend w/i the next 2 weeks. I want to make sure they have reciprocal flying agreements first because I can't commute if I have to buy tickets every week. Please keep me posted after your interview and let me know about the commuting thing. Hey, How do I find y'all on Facebook? Thanks for your support and keeping me informed :) I will keep my fingers crossed for you this week.

almost 100 people went to the interview last wednesday and only 17 were selected. seems my chances arent that good! and this is an expense!!!

Good luck NYCgirl! I'm very excited for you. I was nervous when I went and there were a lot of people there and also I had a wardrobe malfunction. I was embarrased but you know what? I kept hoping and dealt with the pressure. I was intimidated by others because some were current lead F/A's but I just chose to be myself and be confident. I told myself that if I didn't get hired...then I could always reapply. Another thing was even though I have previous experience, I went in there with a " I hope they know that I really want to be a part of their airline family" attitude instead of a "they owe me the job because I use to be a F/A" attitude. You will do awesome NYCgirl. I understand what you are saying about the expense...but it's all worth it in the long run ;) Good luck.

nycgirl, I've had the same thoughts. To boost my confidence I reflect on how I've been preparing for the F2F. I still may not get it, but I'm proud of my hard work. I wouldn't say that you don't have a positive attitude, rather you have a very realistic attitude. Understanding reality is important too. Just keep boosting yourself back up or pop in here for more encouragement! Also, just think...if Delta really does pick us, then we will be one of the 17 out of 100. At that point those odds are SUPER FLATTERING! Best wishes to you...have a safe & very successful trip! C!

Good news to those Floridians applying for JetBlue -- They've recently made MCO an actual hub. Not much avaibility there but for those who want to stay in Florida -- MCO is a new hub.

Doesn't mean I can reapply for Inflight cause its technically not an new opened BlueCity.

I never learned to understand the sport :-( maybe 'cause "foot ball" in France (where I grew up) was really rugby ;-)
I'm gonna do my nails, try on some clothes, get a workout on my treadmill--all that, while my honey is watching the game with his friends in a sports bar! I'm glad I have a chance to do all that today, no time tomorrow; have my flight....

It's only 2 hours from JAX. :)

Space is limited at MCO, so try to get those applications in as soon as possible.

From what I hear in Orlando at training Orlando will be a "senior" base like how Long Beach is but you can try for it. Most people will go to JFK or Boston out of training. It would be great to work with you Natasha and we do have a base in FLL and that is not far from you.

Yes. It is senior. You can bid for the base but there's only 50 spots availible for Orlando and they're giving out spots to those who live in the area rather than people who want to move to a sunny spot.

Oh, and FLL from JAX is a good 8 hour drive.

That's great news! Just wish DL would consider opening a hub in South Florida sometime. It would be hard though, since this area is pretty much taken by AA!!

btw, I've heard thru the grapevine that peoplescout (not Delta) has been responsible for losing paperwork which resulted in lots of people not hearing from DL for weeks. Not much consolation here but it explains a lot.

Palm Beach is not a hub. I work at PBI, It's not even large enough to be a hub for Flight Attendants. Not only that, its a seasonal station. Meaning, during the summer its a dead airport.

Ft. Lauderdale is a hub for Spirit and jetBlue. I think Miami is a h7ub for American Airlines. Not sure about Delta or United.

MCO just became a hub for JetBlue and is a virtual base for AirTran flight attendants.

idea of relocating and trying to communte back home to Palm Bch. I understand if you do not have seniority you can be bumped from a flight to your base?? It sounds crazy. Your just trying to get to work...
All this won't matter unless I'm actaully not offered the training and then hired as well.

DELTAHAWK - Don't quote me on this, because I haven't been going on the Delta forum for a while, but my recollection is that the people who didn't get offers on the spot but did get calls later on got those calls within a couple of weeks. I don't want to upset you, but it's possible that after 9 weeks you may want to either apply someplace else, OR plan to reapply when the waiting period is over. I just don't remember seeing anyone get an offer after such a long period of time. DeltaBird and I pretty much knew that we weren't going to hear anything after 8 weeks. My feeling is that there will be a better chance of getting hired if you wait and reapply after they've worked the bugs out of this initial interview phase. They are concentrating on LOD's and some other specialized critera this time around.

I know, Hawk. They told DeltaBird and I the same thing. I think that, in some cases, that may be their canned response. But I hope that you prove us wrong. I really want you to get this. Do you know how long you have to wait to reapply?

Im not sure if I will try again. This was my 5th try for
DLFA in a 17 yr period, I have had enough. I used to fly for Valujet before I worked for DL. I was itching to get back in it this time, and still feel like I am worthy, but after I hear my fate, then I will make a decision to try another direction again....
