RJ, that sounds like a perfect way to spend the 4th!

Pinnacle Airlines, I wanted to fly the Red Tails when I was in High School. I grew up in STP. The Red Tails are part of the landscape here and I am blessed that I am going to be able to be a part of them before the colors change.

Ok, that's the same one who gave us the baloney line also. I'm glad she's gone....that is, if she's the one responsible for the fiasco.

Shanester in NYC, New York said: Yes that is the woman but in my case it was if we like your photo we might call you back for another interview and it is time to say goodbye and leave us then tried throwing out 100 people on the street with no transporation or changing plane tickets til people started revolting about having to sit at the airport 8+ hours. All the people I know that were with me that day got the no thanks a few days later so we knew she was bs'ing us with that line. I am glad she got flack for the poor way they treated a bunch of people that they left hanging with no call or e-mail cause that is just plain rude. Yes my friend used it but is waiting for the second interview.

SHANE, I can't even tell you how despicable I think they are for what they did to you up at DL headquarters!!! But I'm glad you did a LOT better with JB! You're a wonderful guy!

HEARTKIN - Congratulations! I just saw your news. Aug. 6 is right around the corner - you must be walking on air. Have they sent you a training packet or anything? If so, you've probably already studied it from cover to cover. LOL. I'm so happy for you. And sad for whatever airlines didn't get you - they need to clone you.

I saw some fabulous f/a shoes yesterday in the Delta employee stores, so I went home and ordered them directly from Aerosoles ($20 cheaper than any of the other online stores that carried them). I had already given my other black shoes from Shuttle A. to my mom. LOL.

Oh for Pete's sake. I can't believe these people. Jori, don't let it get to ya. It just means that they were considering you more strongly than those who got the "no-thanks" right away. They'll start hiring again, and you should reapply when you're able. They have a new HR Director now - things may be different.

Just wanted to check in. I have been missing in action. After the bad experience I had with Delta. I have bounced back and now employed by OAI, I have been to Europe already and going again in a few days. I have been allowed to do what I always wanted and then some... There are always other opportunities if you are willing to dust yourself off and try again. I did.

Hi Natasha!

It's nice to see you did a role call!
I try to do it once in a while, too!
LOL! I feel like some of us go way back...especially the names on your list!
Truly a great bunch of people---Hope they pop up soon, I miss them, I'm going through withdrawal, too!
Everyone brings such a variety of personality to this thread (especially you!)...just love it!

OK...so I had a "glamorous" moment on the plane recently...

Picture it...
I was sitting on the FA jumpseat for landing which was facing passengers...

(We call it the Princess seat..cuz all the passengers watche every move you make...if the plane shakes a little, they look straight into your eyes for reassurance...so I have to watch my facial expressions (hard for me to do!) and make sure I sit pretty with legs properly stowed in my red dress uniform...you get the picture...)

Anyways...this nervous lady sitting across from me projectile vomitted all over me...right as we were landing! What a sight! I almost died! I was drenched in vomit...she got me good--all over my uniform, me and my hair! I felt so sorry for her, but actually felt more sorry for myself! You can imagine the looks I got walking throughout the concourse after I left the plane! Never know what can happen inflight! Try walking away from this scenerio gracefully...oh, and smiling at the same time, too, of course! Still wanna be a FA? I'm getting paid back for something I did...haha!

How was your day?

DeltaFa, OMG Did that really happen to you. I have had patients spit food at me, but I have always been able to avoid the vomit and poop. Guess I need to throw a few towels in my bag.Surely they let you go home or to the hotel to shower. OMG I can see all the germs. Gross glad you didn't get sick.

Yes Gail, unfortunately it is true!
Fortunately, it was at the end of my 384 hour flight/trip (well, it felt that long anyways!)...so I was done for the day!

With this job, you soon come to realize the important things...like landing safely and no one dying! So it was ok, I guess...as they say...**** happens!

Oh, and by the way...my bad...the jumpseat that faces all the passengers is called the "Sharon Stone Jumpseat"... (need I explain why? Fatal Attraction scene??)...and the Princess seat is on the MD-88, cuz you sit all alone, like a princess does!

Anyways...like anyone really cares...LOL! I blame it on the cabin air--the dentist has laughing gas, flight attendants have ozone!

DeltaFA, Thats so funny naming the seats. I'll have visions now when I look at them. I also just got caught up on galley gossip, Heather Poole is an awsome writer.

Man the nursing stories I could write, but I would have gotten in big trouble. Patient privacy rights and happy to sue families. Especially the Alzhiemer patients. Kinda like the crazy people flying today.

Did you read the story about the first class passanger who opened the emerg. door and went out the slide because economy class people were leaving the plane before him?? I also read the it cost like 20,000. to repack those things.

Crazy people out there.

DeltaF/A - How did you keep from gagging??? Most people can't deal with vomit without it triggering their own gag reflex. I take my hat off to you for dealing with that so gracefully.

Which MD-88 seat is the Princess seat? The one in the very back? I LOVE the galley placement on that airplane, and my favorite place to sit (as a pax) is back behind the galley - it's so cozy. On the Embraer, the rear jumpseat is back in the galley area, so you're all by yourself with a little peephole with which to see into the cabin. Very private - you can sit like Sharon Stone. LOL.

Well I have seen some cougars in skin tight micro mini uniforms in the crew lounge lately and I am shocked they would be doing that cause they would be having some basic instinct stuff on the plane but I have also dealt with the vomiters but thankfully have not have it happen on me so I feel for you DeltaFA but it happens.

Shanester...That was good! Well, I forget not to wear dresses/skirts on aircraft with Sharon Stone jumpseats! At that point, more passengers seemed to have focused on The Exorcist scene rather than Sharon...

Natasha...You are absolutely right, just as Shanester pointed out, too...it was the scene from Basic Instinct, sorry, my bad! :)

RJ...The "Princess seat" is the single FA jumpseat right in front of the MD-88 galley...the jumpseats in the back, seat two and the plane fishtails and gets bumpy back there, so we call them the "roller coaster seats"...haha! All this crazy plane jargon...

It's a good day, Heartkin. Thanks for asking. I did speak to the recruiting director from ASA a few minutes ago, and they have suspended all training. I was on the verge of getting my offer, but she said that I'm good for 6 months without having to reapply. This is definitely not a good time to be entering this industry unless you have a sugar daddy, a rich daddy, or are being supported by your baby daddy. :)

You know, it may not be in '08, but things will open back up again, and we'll have choices again. I got caught in the AirTran class cancellation, which is what led me to look at ASA, so either way, they'll all have to start hiring again, sooner or later. (Just hope my bio. clock keeps ticking, or I'll be flying for Shady Pines Airlines). LOL.
