Sorry I've been gone for so long. I've been flying really high-time and when I'm home it seems like I'm either sleeping or forcing myself to go to the gym to burn off airplane food (which fortunately I am now sick of and don't really touch! =)

RJ- I just read about your loss. I am so sorry and want you to know that you are certainly in my thoughts and prayers.
My mom has two dogs that are literally her children. I cannot imagine what she is going to be like when something happens to them.

The dog situation is the first big drawback I have encountered with this job. I would LOVE to have a dog but it just isn't possible. I flew with one lady who is single and has two dogs and she sends them to doggy daycare when she is on a trip. I asked if that got expensive and she said it is basically a car payment. Yikes!
My cat is even living with my grandma now. She didn't take being alone for 2-3 days at a time very well which is understandable considering that she is 15 and has never been put in that kind of situation.

NATASHA- how is the weather down there?
I remember when I was in college we would always have hurricane parties. Of course at FSU people are basically looking for a reason to party! LOL

I haven't read any of her books but I have a decent idea of what they are about! =)

Speaking of books has anyone read Eat,Pray,Love?
I bought it and started reading it on a layover nearly a month ago and haven't picked it up since then. Not b/c it wasn't good (it is so far) but I think my ADD just kicked in lol.
I'm bad about starting books and waiting 3 weeks to read the next chapter.
I thought I would read a lot more with this job but that hasn't really been the case so far.
I still always check seat pockets after people deplane to see what magazines they've left behind lol.

DELTAFA- what's new in NY?
Someone told me that transfers are now closed until the merger is done with. So I guess I'm in ATL for a while.
BTW you HAVE to pick up an EZE when you guys get it in Dec. I picked one up last min this month and it is my new fav trip!
It goes super senior here but every now and then someone either drops day of or you can snatch up a K or Q line.

MATT - Thank you so much for the kind words about my doggie. It was 2 weeks ago today, but at least I've stopped crying. Just getting used to dinging around in an empty house. Hubby couldn't stay home and babysit me forever. :) It's time I either got another doggie or go to training (or both).

You and DELTAF/A are so crazy with your trip talk. Sounds like you guys are wearing yourselves out. I just got off the phone with hubby telling him that I'm sick of flying (going on his trips with him the last couple of weeks). If they'd let me get up out of my seat and help make coffee or something it wouldn't be so bad. :)

Did I tell you all about being seated in the center seat in coach last week between the two rappers? Apparently these guys are pretty famous, apparently - Lupe Fiasco (for those of you who follow rap). Anyway, these guys were like, 300 pounds each, and I was seated between them. What a ride THAT was.

DELTAFA- I have heard that transfers are not being granted but again I heard it from FAs. You know how rumors are....

I had a domestic on Saturday and earlier tonight I did an instant trade in open time and now have FCO! I'm excited...FCO is pretty sr here.

When I did the Africa trip I hung out with some NY people in DKR. Although I had a pretty fun crew too! =)

Oooohhhh I want to come too! I love Boca! (Or as we say BOW-KUH).
And there actually is eye candy there under the age of 70 despite what some people say! Everyone in ATL jokes about working the flights to PBI and doesn't want to do it and I'm like put me on it I get along with the old Boca ladies! ;)
They order tomato juice (no ice!), decaf CAW-FEE, and a Diet Coke (But don't open the can!!). And that's for one person.

BTW Malti funny I just read that I was debating on going to the Starbucks by me before they close tonight. Maybe I'll try the chocolate banana thing.

i didnt hear anything after my first interview with Delta,
so i guess they didnt care for me,the interview was not easy they ask you what you would do in a plane if a passenger have a lugage there is no more space in the over head bin,i answer i know thereis an extra bin in the plane ,i will put it there,and if its full he would have tocheck in the lugage,also the guy ask,the seat belt sighn is not on ,but the commander of the plane say there will be turbulences,a passenger stand up what do you do?
i was not certain what to say seat belt sighn is not on ,but turbulences can get bumpy ,so i said i will ask him to please go back to his seat,and after couples of question like that i told the recruiter?i m sorry i answer what i think i had to i was not train,i m not certain of the rules,they also told me a passenger is drunk boarding the plane,do you give him more alcool beverage,i say no i will offer him non alcool beverage,that i know it say on the airlines mag when you board the plane,if you look tipsy,they can t serve you more!
i check Continental dosent hire,United dosent hire,Pinacle as no open house close to me,i should apply for Jet Blue,who else could i apply?

Your answers were great, really.
Delta is not calling anyone back right now...
We are in a "little holding pattern" with the FA hiring process.
So they will call you when the hiring process starts up again...

They know that you have no FA experience. They just want to see how you would answer those scenerios, to the best of your knowledge with your customer service experience! You did well!

Everyone who is applying to become a Delta FA is going through the same process right now...no one is being called back at the moment...so everything is just fine for right now, stay positive and wait, wait, wait...

I hope HEARTKIN gets back on here, she can help you with other airlines currently hiring...she is very good at giving updates for all the airlines hiring right now and where there is a session you can attend if it is close by. You may want to bo back and look on the forum headings, I think she posted some airlines already.

I do think you would make a wonderful FA, too!
As you can see...all of this takes time!

From what I hear they are always in need of Dutch speakers.
I talked to one of the people who conducted interviews and she told me that during the last round they didn't meet their Dutch quote.

So I guess this is the Rosetta Stone we all need to start studying =)

oui Nice et la Riviera c est une belle destination,
et puis c est la ou j ai ete elevee,
le demenagement a voir car il faut vendre notre appartement en premier,au fait en 98,j ai pose ma candidature chez crossair,
j ai meme recu un billet d avion pour l interview,a l epoque j etais au chomage depuis 4 mois,et j ai trouve un job,ayant peur de ne pas obtenir un travail avec eux,j ai annule ,je n aurai pas du,car si j avais eu le job c etait a Geneve,d apres eux une bonne chose etait que je n avais pas d enfants.
crossair a disparu depuis.

Hi I am doing well. I was in Jacksonville the other day before Fay hit. I am doing a SFO trip on Wed might pick up an OAK trip on Monday debating on that one. I am doing well but yeah I have done some FL trips lately but no FLL thank god, I am not longer the King of FLL turns lol. I finished my degree this month so that is out of the way, 10 years in the making!
