Birdy in Auburn, Pennsylvania said: So, I just called to check on my status and I was told that I am on the list for the f2f but not to expect a call anytime soon b/c the list is a mile long. Is this what they're telling everybody?? That sounds like what I was advised also ... Guess we just need to be patient and wait our turn (but I am so eager ... lol). I am not sure what the time-frame is right not between being told "Congratulations" on the 2nd phone call and having your f2f arranged ...I was told over the phone a couple of weeks ... but others on this forum seem to have waited months. Please keep me posted if you hear anything more! |

Please keep me posted if you hear anything more! Hello, I called this morning as I am also awaiting for my F2F. I was told that they will definately will contact me, but was not give a time frame. I can say that I did receive a call this past Friday and when I returned the call, all the interview slots were filled. Therefore, I suggest that if you do get a call from DAL, return the call ASAP, as they will move on. Eddie (San Juan, PR) |

I had my second phone interview Tuesday of last week, and just got a call for F2F for the next week. So that was fast. I do speak other languages, so that's probably why. |

Thank you both! I was sitting here trying to decide if they had us ranked according to when we called, how we did on our interview, or if this was going to be one of those times I wished my last name was closer to the beginning of the alphabet, lol! I guess as long as we're all being told the same thing all we can do is wait. I agree, Anne, I was so excited to get this opportunity, I can't wait! Thanks for the advise Eddie!! |

Hello, Could someone Please help me out with this. I Applied a while ago for delta and called them a few days ago. While I was on the phone they did confirm all personal information and then asked if I had time to go right to the next step and they asked me situation questions. I did let them know I lived in CLE and they said I did not necessarily Relocate. So they will let you commute? And can I do this job very Part Time? And what is the Per Deim? Thanks |

Is this what they're telling everybody?? I was told to be patient while waiting for a FTF callback. I applied 2 weeks ago when they were still actively interviewing and then they slowed down. They said they were making new class dates and the hiring process has slowed a bit, but to remain patient as they will contact when they need to fill classes. |

I know right now that Delta are ONLY hiring language speakers, I heard from someone at Delta that in the future if/when Delta commence re-hiring they will only accept language speakers. I am British living here in New York, I was on here a few days ago because I started my first few days of training in Atlanta but had to go home due to death on my wifes side of the family, now I have to re-apply. If its true does that mean unless I am a language speaker I have no chnace with Delta when I am able to re-apply on June 11th? Anyone who can help, please email me:
Thank you and have a wonderful night Mark |

wanttofly in Metuchen, New Jersey said: Hi delta sky speakers varied some spoke 2 or more languages (Portuguese, French, Arabic, and Spanish) one person was told she was hired because she put Italian on her initial application and was told she would have to pass the test and her job offer was on the condition that she would pass. I felt bad for her because she said she misunderstood the question when she answered Italian. Another lady put in her application that she was able to speak 4 languages and they told her she would have to pass all 4 language tests. |

In their defense....they're going through THOUSANDS of phone calls, applications, emails, packets, etc etc etc....and they're getting towards the end of their project with Delta...I'm sure they're really worn out =) I had a REALLY nice lady the first time....a very rushed and "busy" lady the second phone conversation, etc etc...

If they are only hiring people who speak a second language then why would they bother flying out and interviewing those who only speak english? I completed my second phone interview and now I am just awaiting a call back for my f2f interview, and I only speak english. For my sake I hope they are still hiring for both, it says on my application that I only speak english... |

Miss B, Yes there need bilingual FA, but, if you do well in your interview, you can be offered a slot into their training academy. When did you complete your 2nd phone interview. I am also awaiting for my F2F interview. Best of luck Eddie |

Miss B, It all depends on the schedule you are given. I think and please don't quote me on this, you are given a couple of days to go home. From my previous experience with another airline, once I graduated I was sent to my base and was sitting reserve. I actually sat reserve for a couple of days b4 I was sent on a trip. Eddie |

With Delta you only have 6 reserve days a month...the rest of the time you hold a line. So yes, you will be flying right away. As long as you make it through training and graduate =) |

Hello Could Somebody PLEASE Help me out on a few questions. This is my 3rd try. I applied for delta a long time ago. I called the 1-800 number to check status and they updated my contact info and then asked me if I had time to do phone interview right then. I did. They asked lots of situation like questions and then they asked me which airport I would like to fly out of for an interview. My question is will I have to wait long for an interview? and Can I work very part time with delta? What are the min hours I need to put in a month? I was also told I would be based in New York I said I lived in Cleveland and they said I did not have to relocate Just commute. Is there anyone out there who commutes for delta now? If someone could Please answer me that would be great::)) |

If so, there is no getting around that. They will check, and it would be dishonest if you was to put that you never applied and they check and saw you did. May is around the corner. As for Languages, since you will be tested, put down the languages that you are fluent. Best of luck. Eddie |

Thanks in advance for any reply you can provide. I am wondering, can you choose to fly just your six days of reserve, or do you have to pick up trips in addition to the six days of reserve? Do you receive an assignment of your reserve days at the beginning of the bid? |
|
EMEITALIA in Chicago, Illinois 4 months ago |
Yes...your reserve days are assigned at the beginning of each month but you're able to switch and trade them out with other FA's.....and you only HAVE to fly your reserve days. Outside of that, you can fly as many or as few days as you'd like =) |

Hey, I've been reading all these comments in this forum and this is my first time posting. I applied and already had my 1st phone interview around Dec. (2007), but haven't heard from them since completing my online assessment. I didn't call back either since I went back to college (I'm graduating this May) and wouldn't be in a position to have a f2f. But now that I'm graduating in early May, should I give them a call now or wait a little longer, since I can't have a F2F until after May 16th (that's when my college semester ends). After all these years of being a student, I'm really excited about working for an airline like Delta; hopefully my language skills (I speak fluent Mandarin) will help me! |

Thanks for replying! But my real qualm is whether or not I should call them since I'm afraid they'll conduct a 2nd interview on the spot and (if I pass) arrange a F2F soon after because I can't fly anywhere until after I finish college (May 16th). Any advice is greatly appreciated! |

Any advice is greatly appreciated! Hey there, Well if they do then what you should do is just be honest and tell them that your in school and you wont be done until May 16th and I am sure they will note your file and see what they can do. I am pretty sure they can't promise anything but at least they can note your file of your situation and try to work around that but I know they have a class starting like may 20th so I am sure they might be trying to fill that class up. Again good luck and hope everything goes well for you. |

Mibella in Ohio said: Hello Could Somebody PLEASE Help me out on a few questions. This is my 3rd try. Hello, The answer to your question I am not sure how it all works because I am just an applicant myself who has went through everything and now waiting for my F2F but just be patient. I am thinking tha with the merger with NW, Delta is going to need alot of help so they will be hiring lots of FA's at least I believe so. I don't know about the part time thing because they need people around the clock and with the reserve schedule I am sure you will be working alot bc they dont have you on reserve the entire month. |
|
Mibella in Ohio 4 months ago |
Thank you so much for the reply!! I was just thinking that majority of people want full time so I was looking at part time. Did they say you would be in New York? |
|
KJA in Stevenson, Washington 4 months ago |
Thanks so much for this quick reply and perhaps you are still on line for a follow up question; So will the reserve days typically be grouped into say, three days at a time? If I cannot realistically fly much more than six days a month and have a 5hr commute to NYC is it realistic to think that through trade or otherwise I could basically end up with about 8 days/month in the air between commuting days and reserve days? |
|
EMEITALIA in Chicago, Illinois 4 months ago |
MIBELLA IN OHIO: You only are required to work your 6 reserve days, outside of that, it's up to you how much you fly during the month. Your reserve days are assigned to you, however, you can trade and switch with other FA's if you need to move around your reserve days. You will fly two 3day trips or one 6 day trip. From the time I had my last phone interview to the time I was called for a F2F was six weeks....from mid November until almost mid Jan. 2008. I went down Jan. 16 for my F2F....didn't get a conditional offer when there..... then three months later....I got a phone call. My training class starts May 6th. But I've also heard many people who have gone through the entire process in only one week. It's completely different one person to the next, just be patient....if it's meant to be, they'll call you! =) Good Luck!!!! |
|

THANK YOU So much for reply. May I also ask. Is it realistic to commute from Ohio to NY to work? How much is uniform? |
|
EMEITALIA in Chicago, Illinois 4 months ago |
No problem =) That commute is TOTALLY doable! Seeing as I'll be moving to Texas in July and will be commuting from there =) Ohio will be a snap =) The uniform is around $800 total for luggage and everything but they take it out of your paycheck in increments of $20 so you don't have to worry about having money for that upfront =) |

Sylvia t in Dallas, Texas said: i was told we could buy our own black luggage? I didn't hear anything about being able to buy your own luggage....or anything about a credit. All I've heard is that towards the end of training you go and pick out your choice of luggage pieces and your uniform, and that the cost is taken out of your paycheck a little bit at a time so that it's not a burden. |
