I wish you the very best. As a former FA for a major career, allow me to give you some advice:

Stay focus and don't give up. Training is not easy, at times it can become stressful. Study, but don't burn yourself to death. Eat right, rest and keep a positive attitude.

The exams are not difficult if you study. At AA we took our exams over the computer and everyone had a different exam.

You've reached this far and you ought to be proud. Soon you will see that time passes by real fast and the next thing you know, you are heading to graduation.

Though, I've never worked for Delta, I have flown for AA and NWA. All the trainings are alike in some way. Every airline modifies it their way, but in general, its the same.

I just applied for Delta and went through everything the phone interviews the assessment and I found out at the end of it all that I am in the final interview process which is the F2F and I am very excited about it. Having worked for a regional airline for a short time. I am wondering will that be something that Delta looks at since it is experience. Do they take that into consideration? Also how long does it take for us to get an email about traveling to ATL for the F2F? Lastly are we responsible for our transportation or does Delta provide that for us? First and foremost, congratulations in reaching this point. You have something going for you. You have the experience. As for your date for your F2F, it all depends. Some folks get a call within a week, others it may take longer. I am still waiting for my F2F interview date. After applying and going through the process, I had received a call from DAL scheduling me for my F2F, however, when they called (several times) I was sent to Dubai on a task force with my company. I was out in Dubai for one month 1/2.

When I got back they had called me appx 6 times. I got back home not too long ago and I called them and explained to them my situation. They told me not too worry that they will definately call me. They did this past Friday, but when I returned their call, all the slots were filled. Again, I was told that they will call me as soon as they have interview dates available.

That's where I stand. To answer your questions, DAL will provide you R/T transportation from you home city to ATL. Please note and based on what I have read here, the F2F interview day is long, so eat a big breakfast. They do provide snacks, and pops.

Answers to your questions...I'll try my best.
It seems like the waiting time period for an interview is different for each one of us...so my suggestion to you is CALL THEM and follow up in your status and emphasis your continued interest in the position.
As far as commuting its all about planning and my suggestion will be as a commuter to get to your base the night before if possible especially when you are on your reserve days.
as far as the part time hours...I am not exactly sure but I would think you must work at least your reserve days and the rest of the month you can swap your trips and also keep in mind that you will get 12-13 days OFF each month.

I hope this will help you...Go for your dream and your goal and the rest will fall into a place as you go with the flow...

Well if they do then what you should do is just be honest and tell them that your in school and you wont be done until May 16th and I am sure they will note your file and see what they can do. I am pretty sure they can't promise anything but at least they can note your file of your situation and try to work around that but I know they have a class starting like may 20th so I am sure they might be trying to fill that class up. but when talking to others who had extreme circumstances, they were able to schedule later dates.

Hey guys,

Well just wanting to say hello and hoping that everything is going great for you all. I just got done reading these post and seeing as May 13th might be the last class hmm I don't know but whose to say. I heard that May 20th was the last class but as I said before whose to say :) Anyway I should be hearing from them sometime next week because they did tell me that they will emailing me the details about my F2F in a few days. So I am hoping for that much at least. Again everyone be safe and hope everything goes great and we all will be flying for Delta soon :)

from what i understand, that is the LAST class that they are FILLING. I do not think it is the LAST CLASS period by any means.

then when that is full, they will fill another.... and so on... but if they are interviewing fewere people then the classes just might start to be farther apart this summer.

that is my understanding.

Last Friday, I received a call and when I called back all the slots were filled. I just happened to call to do a follow-up and I was give a date.

Hi guys, I just spoke with someone in Delta, and she told me that they will schedule my f2f interview when they have space available. Anybody beside Eddie has an appointment for a f2f interview.

I had mf f2f on the 9th of april and just last week i got a phone call from DAL telling me that i am a strong candidate but i was still in the refrence period meaning they were still doing all my checks and what not. I have not heard back from them yet and im still a little leary to call them. Does anybody know when i could expect to hear back from them since i already heard from them last week?? Does anyone know about this kind of situtaion and where we go from here??

You get 2 tickets to the graduation ceremony, and then you can start working the day after you graduate if you want to! It's not always glamorus, but it's massivly rewarding, and I say go for it... but, that's your decision to make... you know! If you're heart is into flying... do it! Smile at everyone at your interview, and seriously, don't be nervous... the interview is fun!! Hope some of this helps!!

Yes, same situation here. I spoke with someone from people scout and he told me that Delta is currently only interviewing speakers. They continue to accept applications from everyone but are only calling and requesting them to call back speakers for interviews. He said one day they will call and ask for Hebrew speakers and then another day call and ask for French speakers ETC. I don't know how true this is, maybe they will interview more non speakers, who knows. All we can do is wait patiently for that call...

Yes, I also was told 2 1/2 weeks ago on my final phone interview that I would be notified by email within 10 days of my f2f. I have yet to receive that email. I phoned on the 10th day and was told that the interviewer should not have told me that. Now I am extremely concerned. I did apply at another airline. From application to the f2f taking all of 1 week. I have been offered a position with them with the training beginning on June 3.

Could anyone tell me is one airline better than the other or which company may have better benefits?

American Eagle. The reason I ask, is because in my research, I do believe that I would have more off time for family through Delta. I dont need all the hours. I want to get my foot in the door, then do mega hours next summer and there on out. Plus, my finding are that Delta at least pays minimum wage for training versus no pay with AE and the pay is better through Delta.

Can anyone elaborate on these or other negative and positives.

Hi flytt in Chicago,

All Delta newhire FA's are qualified to fly both international and domestic flying. Most likely, you will be flying both at the beginning. The only way that you will be flying international only is if the flights with your language requirements are short of language speakers...which is probably not so at this time, since Delta
has been hiring many language FA's since last year. Plan on flying a variety! Good luck!
