I know I can read this in our docs but does anyone know where it is we go at 1200 on the 11th? |
|
True in District of Columbia 8 months ago |
Hey everyone , i called delta and they told me that business casual is ok the first day. I will be going from the plane directly to the training center in nice business casual. Also, dont forget that you dont have to wear a suit to be business - ladies can wear a dress and both girls and guys can do a coat over their shirt/tie(men)/slacks. |
|
Danielle Dani in Florida 8 months ago |
On the March 4th post, they were saying that the Delta rep on the phone said business casual was fine. 3 different people asked and all answers came back as business casual.. |

Joanna in Framingham, Massachusetts said: good morning all! I'm a yoga addict too, actually I'm a yoga instructor, and there is a bikram studio about 10 miles away and I will definitely be getting there as often as possible. I think I will be buying a cheap bike off of craigslist or something when I get to ATL so I can take MARTA to the yoga studio and then ride my bike cause its a mile and a half away from the studio. If you wanna join me for some bikram, or if you got a car you can drive I will practice every single day that I can (I'm a twice a day practitioner now, so even once a day isn't enough for me). If I can't make it to the studio, I will just steam up my bathroom and practice in there. |

Okay, am I the only one that does not know what's around this training place? a gym, wholefoods, trader joe's, yoga, etc. Are we for sure goin to be at the center and not in a hotel? |

Should I bring an electic flying pan or a crock pot? If I'm in a hotel I could sneak it in and do some cookin' LOL. Otherwise I'll store them in my car. Out of respect for my roommate I don't want to bring too much and clutter our room up. |

I'm starting to freak out a bit. Since I live in Florida I don't have many clothes to wear to class. Most of my pants of capri's and I wear them with sandals. It'll be a little cold on ATL for them. I've gained weight so some of my more dressy clothes are a little snug.
I'm going to vote myself as the worst dressed in the class LOL |

no worries BFG - i plan on wearing the same stuff over and over again, all i am taking are two FA size 22" black rollaboards worth of stuff. I refuse to go through the drama of dragging my entire life with me. I learned that lesson last time i was in training- i took a HUGE suitcase with me and as i was packing up to go home-it broke. I ended up patching it together with staples and tape and praying it made it back in one piece. On top of that, i had to bring all of the stuff i had aquirred there too( i.e. Uniform pieces, paperwork, purchases),...my friend had to help me lug it to the airport.I have one peice of advice for all packers: EDIT! |

Sorry I have been MIA...for some reason I'm no longer rec'ing the eamils from our forum. I thought we were just quiet for a while...then I realized that was impossible! :-) Glad I checked in...it's good to catch up with everyone!! Best, Christi Arriving MONDAY:

i was with another airline, AlexGB. Is anyone else concerned about finding a crash pad or is everyone planning a move to (expensive)NYC??? I have never commuted before, and i have no idea what kind of availability there is for crash pads. Thats the only thing that truly has me nervous. If anyone knows anything, please feel free to spill it. |

Many airline personnel live in the areas around the airport...

When I signed into the Delta computer today it went to the Inflight homepage rather than Airport Customer Service homepage (where it normally goes). I did a little peaking at my personal info and I'm already showing as a Flight Att Trainee. I'm even assigned to a supervisor already :-) YEAH....this is really happeneing. |

If we are at a hotel, the hotel will confiscate it as their circuit boards can't handle extra kitchen electronics for risk of fire hazard. I say this from experience when I did my yoga teacher training and we stayed at a hotel for 9 weeks. The hotel took everyones foreman grills, crockpots, hot plates, etc. and returned them upon departure. |

I didn't know if I should commute and get a crashpad or if I should just try to find a couple of roommates and get a tiny apartment. My concern is because I would have to commute so far to NY and I heard that we can only stay a certain amount of days in the crashpads??? I don't mind commuting. But, I think that I would like to have a place of my own for the times when I decide to not commute back home. Does that make any sense? ...or should I just focus on commuting and getting a crashpad??? |

I wish we had a trader joe's here! But, maybe you can help me out with the shopping when we get to ATL. Those lentils sound fab! So quick and easy! I love lentils and I wish we had some here that were so easy to cook in the stores here!! |

I have an aunt in Baltimore so I might commute, but for me it'll be a hassle. I'm leaning more towards renting an apartment w/other people. We also need to investigate crash pads and see what they're like! |

Delta has not trained in 8 years so take it as blessing, because I will tell you previously with another airline we had like 6 lessons to study before we came our first day and were tested the first day we came in and if u didn't pass u were sent home... |
