May 6 Delta flight attendant training class

I just got my start date and I can't wait to go. I am excited and nervous because I know it is going to be difficult every step of the way, starting with the class itself all the way through trying to live in New York. I'm sure I will do well though. I am looking forward to meeting all my classmates and starting this whole new journey. It will be tough but it will all be worth it in the end.

So does anyone else start on May 6th?

Oh that's so wonderful and congratulations! I hope they call me as well. I only got to my first phone interview and waiting to hear still. I wonder how long this will take. All the best to you. :)

It only took a few weeks to get to the face to face interview for me once I got that first phone interview. As for how long it takes to get a job offer well some people got one the day of the interview i heard some saying 2 weeks later but for me it was 3 months after my face to face when I got the call. I had given up and was making other plans for myself and they called me out of the blue. I hope everything goes great for you.

Thank you so much for responding. I didn't know up until when they were still hiring for. I know I just missed the event that was held on April 11th. Also any recommendations as to what questions I should really prepare for this interview? Thank you again :)

Well like I said my interview was 3 months ago so I can't tell you the exact questions. They are all situational though, such as "Tell us about a time when you had to work with a group to accomplish something using teamwork and how you helped to build and contribute to the team." And your answers have to be in the form of Situation, Action, and Result. Meaning you tell them the situation you were in the actions you took and the result of those actions. It is a very different interview but I am sure they know that because I could have sworn I blew the interview.

There are several other Delta forums on here with people that have just gone through the interview that might remember a few more details.

PS thats the face to face. The second phone interview is just as easy as the first was.

I'm in the May 6 class as well. There's another poster (jihane) who's also in the class. We're both excited and can't to get started.

yes, i called, this guy told me to call back the beginning of next week. he emailed someone to update my file...(or something of that nature.) I read a post on here from a woman who interviewed in early January and they just called her back!!! Im just praying I get that phone call. So don't stress urself about it... if anything just keep calling. A delta FA told me to keep inquiring because they like persistence..

JoshuaC...yes, I'll be commuting to class each day, and schedule permitting, I'll try to keep working my job at night, but of course I'll be happy shuttle people around for mealtime or whatever else.

Yeah thats me too. They called me while I was sleeping one day and offered me the job. I wasn't quite sure if it was for real because I had decided it wasn't going to happen and made other plans.

Talk about 'upside down'. I just signed another lease on my apartment and started saving money to take a vacation in June, both right before Delta called and said "WE WANT YOU!" Now, I might be saving that money for a move to New York while still paying for my apt here in ATL. Oh well, my first test of the hectic world of airline flying.

when i called, i asked them to check the status of my app. i explained to them that i interviewed a while back, and i didnt get a conditional offer, and i have yet to receive a thank you but no thank you email or phone call and wanted to know was i still a candidate...hope this helps!!

I am a new Delta flight attendant as I graduated a few months ago and I am so happy I chose this new career for me. As I see, most of you will be starting class on May 6th. I congratulate you for coming this far and making it through the application process which over 85,000 Plus people applied! As far as training is concerned, yes it is a very intense 6 week minus 2 days training period. The instructors at the training center are the best and please remember that they want you to succeed! Your first 2 weeks are not bad, you will be going through your manuals and learn through it as you will be tested every other day section by section, but don't be afraid, what you learn 1 day, you take the test the following day, so its all memorization and comprehension. After your 2 week, thats when you will notice that it will get more and more stressful learning your hands on procedures meaning how to evacuate and aircraft such as an MD 88 or B777 for example as well as learning the emergency exits and learning how to open and close the doors and learning how to arm and dis arm the doors as well. I wish I can detail more but as you can see, the training can get a little stressful, but remember not to over study your brain with the on board manual, study section by section only what you need to learn for the test exams. There will be over 30 exams plus hands on exams so please be prepared. I am trying to be positive but this is the reality. I wish you all the best in training and I hope to see you in the main line very soon in NY!!!
