I am! Have you received your final offer letter yet? I have not yet. I will have to fly into SFO on May 26, because my daugther's wedding is on the evening of the 25th. It is cutting it real close for me, but I will make it work.

You certainly are allowed. I went on April 28th, and I received my offer to move forward in the process late that evening. Still waiting to get my fedex package to take the drug test, but no worries on that count! I am sure they are slammed right now, trying to get ready for the class that is starting Monday.

Tiffany,
Jwomack and i interviewed on april 10th, but we couldn't start until the 27th because we are finishing up school.

Why did they inform you so soon? Did they want you to start right away? Im scared. im trying to figure out a pattern but they do it all different with everyone.

hey tiffany,

remind me when you interviewed again? i know it is stressful to wait but if you've read back in the forum, you should see that we have all had to wait a lot less than those who interviewed before. being thankful for not having to wait 2 wks-1 month to move on to each step really helped me relax a little bit when i had to wait.
just give it some time and you will hear either way. the HR team is really on top of it so don't worry :) i don't believe there is a pattern to their process, but i could be wrong.
i guess the best advice is to find something to distract yourself with (the gym, a book, a movie, friends, etc.) i know it's hard not to think about it 24/7 but your acceptance will come soon enough!!
enjoy the rest of your sunday and let us know when you hear back from virgin :)

I know I am stressing way to much. I just had my interview on Thursay May 1. I just want it so bad because it would work so perfectly for my life. I have 2 little ones and being home for training and being based at home is the perfect situation. I was a FA for the last 8 1/2 yrs based in the bay area. I had it made. Held a line and layed over in Hawaii. Cant get much better than that. So, when my airline shutdown every other airline just didn't seem like it would work for me except this one. Sorry I am being so annoying Im just so impatient but Im working on it LOL!!

you are not being annoying!! we were all doing the same thing after our interviews and i am very impatient as well, especially when it comes to things that i really care about.
it does sound like VA would work out well for you since you have a family in the area and you wouldn't have to relocate. were you working for ATA?

if it makes you feel any better, my interview was on a thursday as well and i got my email to move on to background/drug test the following monday...so only 2 business days later! crossing my fingers that you hear back soon :)

Hi Tiffany,
I don't there is a specific pattern. I think my group is the only that was notified that quickly and I just think it was just luck of the draw. I think they are just trying to juggle a whole lot of things. I do think the only pattern I have seen is that they tend to send all the emails out in groups relating to the specific thing they are responding to. They will probably send out all the emails at once or close together for those who interviewed May 1. No one who interviewed May 1 has said they have had a response. So they probably haven't sent any of them out yet, therefore there is nothing for you to worry about yet. Plus, they probably didn't work over the weekend, so it will most likely be the first part of the week. I would take Sherry's advice and keep yourself occupied otherwise for now.

Be careful, TR! I have heard that the training is really intense and that they have you training at a variety of different hours to get you used to the FA life. Also, that almost all of your off time is spent studying/sleeping, and you have to get a 90% to pass each of the 17 tests. If you don't get 90%, you have to get 100% on your retake test! Also, you cannot be late, not for traffic, not for any reason. Don't want to see you lose it! I would encourage you to think very carefully about it! We want to to be IFTM's together!!!!!

hi mike,

i posted the info a little further back in the VA forum, but pretty much it's 70$/night for single or double occupancy. free breakfast in the morning and manager's reception in the evening. gym, pool, shuttle to training... you can check out the embassy suites' website for more info if you'd like.

we're not gonna do it last minute either, we are just waiting till we hear of others who get notification to start on the 27th and want to stay at the embassy as well. once we have a count we will call to book a group of rooms at that rate.

I will - well I am contingent on my Verifications background check. Has everyone done their drug screen? I live 110 miles south of SFO and am waiting for the info on where to go here. Is anyone looking for a commuter pad near the airport for training and after training?

Erika,

For training, most of us are staying at the Embassy Suites which is right be headquarters. It is $70 for single/double, and many of us will be sharing. However, after training I will need a crashpad to work from. I did my drug screen this week, haven't heard back.

Congrats to all who will be in the 5/27 class. I am a VA ITM and can say that you are about to begin a very fun career with one of the best companies I have ever worked for. My piece of advice is STUDY, STUDY, STUDY!! The training can be intense at times and goes at a very fast pace. Don't stress out, and study every night and you'll do fine. Can't wait to see you out on the line. :)

Hey everyone! Wow I can't believe the camaraderie that has already begun with our class! Unfortunately I live here in the East Bay so it looks like I'll be commuting to and from training! But you can't imagine how excited I am as I'm sure all of you are too!

I applied to Virgin America last Monday (so 6 days ago) and in that time span I've (in order):

Tuesday: Gotten the interview e-mail and chose a interview date
Wednesday: Confirmed the interview and completed the background check
Thursday: Attended the interview
Friday: Received the e-mail to move on and take the drug test putting me in the May 27th class upon passing.
Saturday: Took the drug test at SFO

I was so thrilled that I even went to take my drug test on a Saturday! We're supposed to receive our official letters 2 weeks before training (which is this tuesday), right? I'm assuming because I'm so last minute and because I only completed the background check on Wed that I might not hear until later, but we're pretty much all in the same boat as far as waiting for our official letters, right?

If and when we receive our official letters, anyone interested in going out to dinner in the city to celebrate (and by that I mean SF for you non-locals lol) Monday night? Of course a good night's rest follows so we can be up bright and early on Tuesday the 27th!

helloooo may 27th classmates!!

i just spoke to the embassy and they are going to give me a call back soon with a group rate. i hope it is 70$ like the may 5th class got, but it could be slightly more because it is almost summer travel season. so far there are 10 of us which means we only need 5 rooms but i am hoping some more people who have been accepted find the forum in the next week.

i will keep you all posted with any info as soon as i hear back from the embassy!!

bad news everyone-

they don't have any rooms available for that rate on the days we will be there. she told me they are having a very large group there so there aren't really rooms available for 70$/night. i am so sorry to everyone who was going to join me there, as it was mine and jessica's idea to have everyone stay there. i am going to call the sheraton to see if they have anything. in the meantime, let us know if anyone finds anything else out there for a reasonable price.

ok everybody, sorry to fill up your inboxes...

the world wide developer's conference is june 9th- 13th in san francisco so that's why a lot of the rooms are gone.

i just spoke to the sheraton and they are offering 90$/night. there is no breakfast or anything and the lady needs to know ASAP because they are pretty much booked and she is trying to help us out. it's a nice hotel and right next door to VA. the only thing is that she wants us to commit to full 30 days, not just stay there for 2 weeks and then go somewhere cheaper.

the day's inn only has 3 rooms available at 71$/night

is anyone interested in either of these?

jessica and i are working on some other options right now and we'll let you know what we find out.

Hi All!

So I found a place for us to stay! After a lot of searching i found a place with the same amenities as the Embassy Suites- free breakfast, free wireless internet, 24 gym and business center, microwave and fridge in room. The rooms look pretty nice as well!

The rate for 30 consecutive nights is $85 a night (double occupancy) which is better then the 99 i was quoted everywhere else! The link to the hotel is
www.ichotelsgroup.com/h/d/ex/1/en/hotel/URLBH/welcome

Please let me know ASAP if you all are still interested! I can only get that rate if we have a group! Which means more then one room! haha

I do not know if they do.. but I know i will have a car that seats 3 other people, and its only a 10 min drive.. so if at least one other person brings a car we should be ok!

They do have a airport shuttle so we might be able to get them to drive us to the training center

I am in DC, hence the location. I am interested in the Holiday Inn deal. I would bring my car, but i'm not going to be driving from Orlando to San Francisco! It's too much! I am looking into Marriott deals with my friend who works for them here in Orlando. Hopefully he'll give me something good....if not, we can do the Holiday Inn deal. That's a bummer about the Embassy Suites. I don't know how much higher I can go on rates. UGH! I have been flying my butt off this month with Spirit just to get enough cash. Whew....anywho....I hope to hear something from VX soon. I'm getting really anxious!

hey steve,
the reason we are leaning towards the holiday inn express is because they offer free breakfast and a microwave and mini fridge in the room. we feel this will help mitigate the cost of eating out since you can buy food and store it/bring it to training...or just stuff yourself at breakfast and steal pieces of fruit for later!
so i think it kind of evens out because if you stay at the red roof for 60, you will probably spend at least 20$/day to eat, making it comparable to the 85 @ holiday inn.

you can stay wherever you'd like though...we are not bound to one place :)
