I work as a customer service agent for mesaba and I did send in my online application for FA position with Compass. Does anyone know how long they take to call you? I am actually right now thinking of just going to the open house coming up on the 22nd cuz i cant wait. |
|
Danny Chamboyd in Riverdale, Illinois 53 months ago |
It takes like one week, It took them one week to calll me! But If you can't wait then yes go to the open house! They only Call to tell you about the Open House anyway. And If you live out of town they will fly you In! On another note they do ask you a couple of Questions over the phone! Good Luck! |

It's ok really, but I hate the cold! That's why I can't accept the job with Compass because It's only for Minnosota and It's soooo cold out there! And I mean If you are going to be an F/A of course It's not about the money, But Compass does have the lowest pay of all! Even Mesa pays higher gosh! But at Least It's not any confusing on what State you're going to be living! Good Luck! |
|
Gina Billings in Muskegon, Michigan 53 months ago |
You know one damn thing i havent done? Find out how much compass pays. I am just so excited about getting the job. Hope I wont get disappointed. Do you happen to know how much they start F/As on? |
|
Danny Chamboyd in Riverdale, Illinois 53 months ago |
Yes I do $15.00! So If you are on hott reserve your block pay Is half of that! (but don't worry because you are certain an exact amout of flight hours per month!) Yeah but It's so low because It's a new Company ( Even though It's an alter Ego of NWA airlines! Even NWA F/A's don't get paid that much, and they have been around for much longer! Maybe It's because of the Bankrupt thing that they are only paying $15.00! Your thoughts................ |
|
Gina Billings in Muskegon, Michigan 53 months ago |
If I may ask. What realy are you when you are on hott reserve? So if you are on reserve you get paid less? pardon my ignorance please. |
|
Danny Chamboyd in Riverdale, Illinois 53 months ago |
It's ok! When you are on reserve you don't get paid anyless! When you are on Hott Reserve, Meaning you are sitting in the airport all day, waiting to be called for duty! So you are in a crew room waiting to work a flight for someone late, or sick, etc! So all the time you are waiting watching tv or on the computer you are paid block time! the only time you are getting paid your $15.00 or whatever is when you are working a flight! Get it? Even if you don't work but one fight a month you are still going to be paid your guaranteed amount of hours no matter what! |

I will be turning 21 In four Months, but like I said I have several Training offers as of right now and I'm Indecisive! |

CONVERTING ZULU TIME TO LOCAL TIME NOAA satellites use Zulu Time or Coordinated Universal Time (UTC) as their time reference. The satellite images that appear on NOAA's Web sites are stamped in Zulu time. To make the conversion to your local time, see the chart below. Find your local time in the first column. If you are on Eastern Daylight Saving Time (EDT), you would use the second column to find your Zulu Time/UTC. For instance, if it's 11 a.m. Eastern Daylight Saving Time in Washington, D.C., it's 1500 hours in Zulu time/UTC. See legend below. (Back to Hurricanes Page.) LOCAL EDT EST CDT CST MDT MST PDT PST

SAVANNAH TN... Hey, I am here too... Maybe we could talk... :) in Savannah, Tennessee said: Well..I recently graduated! :) The interview process was a little crazy because its still a new company but still easy. They are looking for the right people they think will be able to do the job. The hours depend on all kinds of factors. You just gotta know the airline industry. |

What all happens at the interview? and How long does it usually take? Thanks for the information!! Nathan, I got back yesturday from my interview. You are positive space, Compass buys an actual ticket. You fly back same day. Once you get to the airport you call the cab company they work with and take it to the building. From there you go and sit in a room and wait for one of the ladies to come in with another paper app. From there they take you to their office where they ask you a series of questions. Also, have both your id, and passport handy so they can make copies. From there, they take you down and fingerprint you and then send you off to get drug tested ( if they like you). Then from there it's back to the airport to take your flight back to ...ATL. you will be getting your reservations tomorrow or the day after. Have fun and Good luck, -Sam- |

I just missed my call regarding the online application I put in with compass. I have called the lady back like twice and left messages and she has not called me back. Am i beeing impatient? I really want to hear from her and see whats next. I hope she is not just about to tell me to justgo to the open house in detroit next tuesday. Do you think she will call me back or my chance is gone? |
|
Sam in Flint, Michigan 53 months ago |
Dont worry, I missed the call as well. I finally got through and they asked me a series of questions and set me gave me a date that I would be attending an interview. 1-2 days later you will get flight Reservations, Tell them your nearest airport, Which would probably be Grand Rapids. Keep trying. Was the person who called Katie, or Jamie, both are very nice. I went to my interview on Monday. Good Luck, -Sam- |

Yes, the Feb. Class is full but we would be in the March Class. There are 22 people per class per month. We will make up around the first 200 FA's at Compass. I was told to give it 3+ weeks to hear back with a decision as well. Good Luck, -Sam- |
|
Gina Billings in Muskegon, Michigan 53 months ago |
Thanks Sam. After reading you post I gave another shot and called jamie. She was nice. She had someone she was talking too but she asked to call me back. I was on my way to mesaba airlines for my Customer Service job and she called me and asked me the usual questions I have been asked by Delta and United recruiters. She called a few minutes later and asked what city i wanted to fly out of and what days were good with me. She told me she was going to make the travel arrangements and email them to me. Now just waiting and if i may ask you, what should I expect at the interview? |
|
Sam in Flint, Michigan 53 months ago |
Don't be nervous. Both Katie and Jamie are very nice ladies. Read my post about 6 or 7 up and that's that basically the whole process. I was told that all interviews in the upcoming weeks are for the March class date so we might see each other there. Good luck and keep in touch! -Sam- |
|
Gina Billings in Muskegon, Michigan 53 months ago |
I sure will. I will let you know when I get back from the interview. And if I get hired which I know will definetely happen, I will see you at class in march. |
|
Gina Billings in Muskegon, Michigan 53 months ago |
One other thing. Do they say what hub candidates will be flying out of or we do not have a choice or maybe just get whatever they have to offer. or is it that if you interview in MSP you work out of MSP and if you interview in DTW you will have to work out of there. |
|
Sam in Flint, Michigan 53 months ago |
As of right now MSP is Compass' only base. They are opening DTW and MEM in April and those bases will be decided by seniority. Current FA's will have first choice of were they want to go but we could put in a bid. If Bleachboy signs back in he might be able to explain more in depth. -Sam- |
|
bleach 53 months ago |
Bleach Boy to the rescue! As said above MSP is our only base and we were just able to bid for DTW and MEM which open in April. I know DTW will go very senior and if in March class it probably depends on how many off us current FA's go to MEM if you could get it out of training. They are taking 30 for MEM and 20 for DTW I know I will be heading to Memphis for atleast 6 months to a year where I will be very senior baby. Right now plan on MSP base with the small chance of MEM out of training. As we get more planes we will get more lines and FA's at the bases. Also remember bases is just where you start your trip. A MEM FA might do... MEM PIT DTW BNA MSP in a day. |

I have my interview this coming week... I am nervous because I have a tattoo aand not sure what they will say. I am going to have it removed but will wear a jacket if they will allow it... |
|
Sam in Flint, Michigan 53 months ago |
Frissy, don't be nervous. I went to my interview on Monday and everything was smooth sailing. Just be prepared to answer questions concerning customer service, goals, etc. Where is your tattoo? |
|

It is on my arm above my wrist. I hope they will still consider me as I will wear long sleeves... Did you get a second interview? Sam in Flint, Michigan said: Frissy, don't be nervous. You can read my posts above as to what the process is but the actual interview part is about a half hour. Make sure you take your passport, they make copies of your id's during the interview. As far as the tattoo I'm not really sure. The next time Bleachboy posts he may have better insight, he is a current FA for them. Good Luck at your interview! -Sam- |

dose any one know if we get wings when we graduate from Compass Airlines?? |
|
bleach 53 months ago |
You should get wings at every airline... you can't fly without wings... that's a yes. Tatoo wise I know we can't have any visible. I would tell them about it at the interview and say it will be removed by training other than trying to conceal it then them seeing it. Interview is easy just be honest and prepared and you'll be fine. Remember to thank them! Good luck! |

Thanks bleach and sam. I got my flight reservations yesterday. jami called me again to see if i would rather want to just go to the open house in Detroit on Tuesday, I told her no, I was okey with going to interview in MSP. About Hubs I prefer DTW and MSP, I wouldnt want MEM since I wanna be close to home anyway. |
