Denver flight in Denver, Colorado said: Can you kinda tell us how the academy is? Success rate? Just in general.. :)

Honestly..it's all in how bad you want it. My advise is just find a good study group, stay away from gossip and STAY focused. The success rates depends from class to class, there are some who lost up to 4 and there are some who lost up to 10.

You have green card so you don't need visa for in/out to/from US but all other countries you have to research each one as a chinese passport holder and as a crew member. This info from a US immigration officer.

I am sorry to tell you but you have to pay for your visas unless United had changed their policy. When I was offered CJO, I was told that it is my responsibility to get visa.
You might need crew visa, business visa or tourist visa, it all depends on the countries. I suggest you to start contacting to the Embassies on the list that you recived from United as soon as possible and save some money for visas. I have to apply for some visa as well and I need to pay from $100 to $200 each visas.
I hope this will help.
Good luck and see you in the sky!!

I know that I'm supposed to figure out which country requires visa based on the sheet that United provided, but once I figure it out, will United apply for the visa once the training begins? Or should I apply myself?

Yes, we have to pay for crew visa. Some countries call it crew visa and some countries don't. Whatever you need to apply for, you have to pay for.
Hope this will help.....

You are going to have to contact to the each Embassy on the list or go to their website, because the visa fee is different depends on nationality of the passport. I wished I could have had answers for you.... Sorry.

Oh, not all Embassy set the visa fee differently. I wanted to say SOME Embassies. My mistake....

I have a question regarding the codes of conduct, for the watch that we are suppose to get, what exactly is a conservative business style? I never wore a watch before and the one i recently purchased is gold/white two tone watchband with small rhinestones embedded around the center. I am assuming this is unacceptable, but can anyone please provide some links as to what are the acceptable designs/styles? Thank you and happy new year <3

Hi Elizabeth, do you know if on the wish list I request sfo, I might get to base in SFO even if I'm a speaker? I know it's a "wish list"...but really hoping for SFO, and with more Asia flights flying out of SFO, I'm still hoping there is a chance to be based in SFO.

I'm confused about this, too. I recently bought a watch, but according to their guidelines, it's not acceptable because of the color. Won't watches be rarely seen under our uniforms? I'm concerned about these very particular dress requirements because according to them, I must now buy a new watch, new jeans, new socks, and a belt on top of buying enough business casual clothing to last through training :( I just graduated, so I don't have a large excess of money saved from a previous career, and I don't have much business casual clothing. i saved money from jobs during college, and im working part-time to save for relocation, but I wasnt expecting to have to buy things I already have but cannot use :(

Training is businesses casual...and as for watches you can get a watch from Wal-Mart that has military time. It doesn't have to be anything expensive.

Some people still get rejected if they pass the language test. But sure if you're a native speaker, you'll be fine:) good luck!

Yes, they don't normaly give the language test if you didn't pass the 2nd interview. There were 3 speakers who didn't get to take the test and they didn't make it.

Have you received a letter from Senior Mgr?

The URL in this letter. This letter was in the small envelope.

It's the last tab that says administration. There's a link inside there that is clearly marked background worksheet. :)
