I know right now that Delta are ONLY hiring language speakers, I heard from someone at Delta that in the future if/when Delta commence re-hiring they will only accept language speakers.

I am British living here in New York, I was on here a few days ago because I started my first few days of training in Atlanta but had to go home due to death on my wifes side of the family, now I have to re-apply.

If its true does that mean unless I am a language speaker I have no chnace with Delta when I am able to re-apply on June 11th? I am hurting so much, my class mates passed out of training 2 weeks ago, and I wish so much I had been one of them :(

Anyone who can help, please email me:
vanquishbrit@yahoo.com

Thank you and have a wonderful night

Mark

SJDGringa in Portland, Oregon said: Great and SOUND advice, Matt!

Hey guys, call me Gringa. It is not THAT cold in the classrooms, but I always wore a sweater. What I failed to mention before is that you must have sleeves, be it short or long. If you have no sleeves (most of my repertoire) I had to wear a sweater to comply.

BELIEVE ME, JASON IS A PERSON YOU SHOULD RESPECT. He is the person that you will have to 'pass' as to whether or not you are in compliance. Just freaking comply. It is not that hard, people. You won't have to fear otherwise. I personally respect him greatly.

Dashuria thank you for the kudos!

Leslie, thank you also for your kudos. There is nothing that you can find in the 'brary. Just study your city codes prior. There are about 200 of them. Know them well. If you have that done before you go, you will be so beyond ahead of the game. I found myself wearing a lot of Chicco's black stuff; stuff that is almost no-iron, yet thinning!! LOL

Cicerosum, don't worry about the commute. Allow yourself 30 min extra than you would otherwise and you will be fine. If you live in ATL, then you should know. You will pretty much have a.m. classes. We started out at 1230, then later (3 weeks in) went to 0830. PLAN ON 10 hr DAYS. I don't know about renting a house or why, that seems like such a huge expense that is unwarranted. Not only that, but unless you speak Swedish, you will be based in NY.

I speak Swedish. Any ideas of where I will be based? I live in Miami and will attend training.

MattATL in Atlanta, Georgia said: I am in training right now and my biggest tip would be to bring vitamins and stuff like Emergen C/Airborne.
About 1/3 of my class and one of my instructors are sick right now. You are constantly around people and germs travel.

They have a cafeteria there but it isn't very healthy or cheap.
I usually bring a Lean Cuisine and other stuff. (There is a microwave in the cafeteria that you can use).
I live here but I'm sure someone in your class who has a car will be glad to drive you to a grocery store where you can stock up on food. I did that for about 5 people in my class last Sunday.

Get LOTS of sleep before you come! =)
You are going to have a great time, but you won't sleep that much.

Also, don't stress out too much over the airport codes. Everyone expected the test on them to be the first week, but it's actually in the 3rd week.

Do you know if we have to remember just the 3 Airport Code and City Name or do we have to know by heart the Airport name thanks.

I will be starting training in a couple of weeks but haven't received the training packet yet, they said it will arrive closer to the date... but, I want to start research to see if there are any gyms and salons near by. Can anyone tell me where the possible residences during the training would be?? Thanks in advance.
