Thank you for giving us this information. I am sure that parts of the hiring process from 2007/8 will indeed change, IF this happens to one of those changes I embrace it. I guess we will see once we attend the f2f and for those that are selected as potential candidates for training.

Valley Guy in Modesto, California said: While a credit check may seem "neither here nor there" for a job interview, remember that it's one way, along with your résumé, references, in-person interview, etc. that they can get a full picture of you. You know all about you, but they don't. Delta doesnt make you do a credit check cause I didnt see anything like that in the application. Maybe your just speaking in terms of other jobs? Most financial insitutions will run credit checks I know being in the financial field. |

flyORD in Chicago, Illinois said: This has been answered a few times already on the forum. You get a line right away, but will have about 6 reserve days. Everyone has them. Is ord a junior or senior base for DL FA? Does Delta have a union like the old NW? |

Vote NO said: I understand you have questions, but there's really nothing to having a physical. This is a physically demanding job and one that's all about safety. For everyone's best interests, this is why they'll be carried out this time around. I'm not comfortable revealing my source on a public message board, but please know I have the best of intentions in providing this information. Does DL use concentra in GA during the interview? |

Delta does not have a union, voting starts towards end of September till November. Personally I hope a union is not voted in. Delta has a good relationship between employees and management. Only time will tell if a union will be voted in or not |

Most financial insitutions will run credit checks I know being in the financial field. I think it depends on what they feel like doing, really. It will not show on the application. IF you are selected for training, you have to sign a lot of paperwork as far as giving them the ok to run the FBI check as well as TSA's background check for air carrier employees. If it is still the same as when I was with them briefly, one will be a consumer report disclosure. Granted, this was NOT for an F/A job but it seems hit and miss. They may or may not request to take a look at your credit report. Again, this is not actually done by DL HR. DL has an outside contractor run their backgrounds. They call your refs., verify employment, as well as verify education. |

No I am not a Delta flight attendant, I am hoping to be one. I was hired back in 2007/8 and briefly attended training, unfortunately for personal reasons I was unable to full-fill my dream ambition, so I am re-applying. I am patiently waiting to hear if Delta will be kind enough to invite me to atl for f2f. Where are you in the hiring process?

Flying_ in St. Paul, Minnesota said: May I ask why you embrace it? Just curious. Sure - if it is part of the hiring process and I want to be a part of Delta then I have to do it, that is why I embrace it. If delta requires this to be part of hiring process then I respect that and go with the flow. |

Vote NO said: If your interview is successful you will have to pass a pre-employment physical. As I have had stated in the passed to some since I do not get to vote in the election and do not have a horse in the race I don't have a pro or against feeling in the union. Once I'm inboard then I can have a say but it won't matter as the vote will be decided before I even get hired. |

I thought maybe you were saying that it was something that should be changed from the 2008, but that is not the case. As far as I am concerned, they can throw in a free dental exam and cleaning while they are at it! Just kidding... |

SessyinCT in Bridgeport, Connecticut said: Totally agree with you Mark. I'm fine with whatever they vote. I just want a FTF. We won't be part of the voting process. I want to work at Delta whether they have a union or not. I'm in a union now. I pay my dues and just try to stay out of trouble so I don't need them anyway. They have their good points and bad points. But all the FAs who are voting will all have worked there for a while and I trust they will vote what they think is best for the company. I just hope this doesn't turn into a big union argument on here now, because the future employees have nothing to do with the decision, anyway. |

I'm also against the union. Having worked for an airline that has an union and my experience with them, let's just say totally overrated! |

I have 'religiously' read all your posts from way back then and followed your journey plus the rest of the old timers on here)I wish you well (plus the rest of the applicants). Hi Alas, Thank you indeed for your words of support to myself and others on this forum. We are a great bunch of people, and Delta hiring team are going to have their hands full making their choices as there are so many of us that would make fantastic flight attendants with Delta. I sincerely wish you the very best Alas, and I look forward to meeting you and others from this forum in training!

So, just wondering, should I fill out the application or wait till I'm contacted. I sent my resume and did the assessment then got an email stating no further action and someone will be in contact with me. Just wondering how everyone else is going about this. |

Hello All! I am not sure if this has already been answered, but if you applied as a Non-Bilingual but said that you have some basic language skill/experience in the questionnaire or on your resume, will they still make you take the language test even if you didn't specifically apply to be an LOD? I heard through the grapevine that sometimes your job offer is contingent on whether or not you pass the language test but then I have also heard that this is not at all true - that you are not automatically disqualified for failing the language test. Does anybody know when they give you the language test? Thank you and your feedback is greatly appreciated! |

Can anyone honestly tell me what kind of chance I have at getting in at Delta if I have no previous flight experience? I have 20 years of administrative experience and also have some customer service experience in dealing with college level students and their parents. I've worked primarily at universities. I have a clean employment and background history and can work any kind of schedule. Thanks. |

You can put yourself up there with those who have f/a experiences. Airlines these days want people with college level experiences. if you don't then don't even worry about it. im not sure what the HR Recruiters want, but if you say what you have is true then you should be good. along with all of us here in this forum, i wish you the best of luck! |

Mark in New Haven, Connecticut said: Having a clean employment and background history is a huge plus, different airlines look for different things. The key components of being a flight attendant are: Having a very friendly out going personality. Having the zest and desire to be the best flight attendant you can possibly be. Going the extra mile for passengers, attention to detail. Being able to think on your feet in times of an in-flight emergency. Being patient, unflappable, polite and respectful towards passengers and fellow crew members. Please do not think that having no flight experience will hinder you, because it won't. If you show the drive and determination and willingness to learn as well has having an endearing personality it will certainly go far with Delta or any airline for that matter. Hope it helps you drive you forward with your application Thanks for that Mark. I do have the qualities to be an excellent flight attendant, however, if you don't get to the f2f, they'll never know it so I'm hoping my background history will get me to that point. Again, thank you for the encouragement. Best of luck. |

Mark in New Haven, Connecticut said: what point are you in the hiring process? Have you applied and/or taken the telephone interviews? Your background in helping people beit in an admin role or a customer service role very much goes along way - you will be great, and when you get to Atlanta for the griup interviews you will shine and show the recruiters the person you are :) Best of luck I applied and took the assessment and received the congratulations email telling me a recruiter will be in touch but no phone interview. I'm debating on whether or not to call in but don't want to appear too pushing. This hiring process is so much different than any other I've been through. In the corporate world, you can exclude yourself from a position by being too assertive. It's very interesting. I will say that this forum has been a world of information for me and I'm just soaking it in. Thanks again. |

They will be turned down for people that don't even know what a 737 looks like and there is nothing wrong with that! The qualities listed is key. They will train you. |

Hi Jackie, I called because I was having trouble uploading my resume and i literally hadnt filled out the first thing on my application...I didnt even ask about the phone interview, but she just jumped right into it. I think their idea is since they have you on the phone, they will go ahead and get that one over with so its not on their ongoing list anymore of call backs! I think you would be safe to call...they will probably just start right into it without you having to say anything! |

There is a fine line between being assertive and being pushy. Mark and everyone out there!!I had not heard anything back from them and so after a lot of hesitation I called the 1-877 number, they told me everything was fine with the application and resume and that it had all been passed to Delta HR department.I just wanted to make sure I was in the system and thankfully I was so now I shall just sit and wait it out and keep my fingers crossed I get a call sometime soon. They were extremely nice when I called and had my application and resume pulled up within thirty seconds or so.Hope this is of some help to your questions! |

I happen to be in the perfect location for airports. Indy being the closest of course. I've been able to get the first and second phone interview completed. The recruiter said they will be in contact within the next few weeks to schedule my flights and the f2f. She said my f2f and group session will be within the first week of Oct. |

I'm taking the advice of others on here and calling in Tuesday or Wednesday. At least I'll know where I stand at that point. You must be soooo excited! Good luck! |
