I sent in an application for the flight attendant job for Horizon Air a few days ago, but so far haven't heard anything back from them except an email saying "thanks for your application". How long do airlines typically take before they get back to you on applications? Has anyone else applied for the job at Horizon? Any advice at all would be helpful, thanks. |

I have not hear anything as of yet but I'm keeping positive and hoping that they are just going in order of application dates. I applied on Dec. 31 so. Good luck to you and hope to maybe be in class with you when they do call. P.S. Is your trip to SEA covered by Horizon or is it an out of pocket expense? |

as it turns out...they were creating a pool of potential candidates to attend the next training class...to be held at an undetermined time. (2011) I was told possibly in the spring. this is the first time they have done this. keep checking the website, it sounds like they will be hiring more this year. they have changed their external branding, but will maintain separate identity while maintaining association with AS

Any news on the dates for open house? |

3 questions. They were tough! Hard questions to answers....as I remember Hardest challenge I had ever encountered in business, and how did I handle it? How would I handle a challenging customer or person? And the 3rd, toughest work change or the toughest work adversity that I had to deal with and how I handled it. Hope this helps you. I said the best I could, the person was not to overly pleasant or helpful. I don't think I had the best answers and the call was about 15 minutes long. |

Thanks Teresa, that does help me prepare. How did you answer the questions, if you don't mind me asking. You can email me at Keithbna@yahoo.com if you don't want all our conversation posted. I hope to talk to you more, maybe we'll be in the same class. |

They are having a group interview tomorrow apparently in PDX. I was not invited. I know this because of a posting on another web platform. They were apparently overwhelmed with Flight Attendant applications. I submitted an application, received an email the following day asking me additional questions, and then they wanted to know when they could call me for a phone interview. I told them when to call, and was quite open about the times, yet they never called. I am disappointed obviously. I thought they for sure would call me because I am a former employee of Horizon as a CSA for two years with a good employee record, but it appears I was not selected for whatever reason. I don't know if they are having any more phone or group interviews, but it does not seem the case. I never received a rejection however, so maybe there is still a chance. |

FA WANNABE I am a previous FA for NK and loved it however having 4 young children I can no longer be away so much I have applied for the CSA position at Horizon and just got invited to group session tomorrow for SEA do you have any suggestions? Do you get flying benefits and what are their hours for shifts normally? Thanks |
|
FA Wannabe in Chatsworth, California 10 months ago |
Horizon is a good company to work for. I was a CSA for them at SMF. They have full flight standby benefits on Alaska of course, but also access to ZED fares (basically the OneWorld airlines), and access to the airlines with station agreements, so you should have station agreements to fly Southwest, USAirways, JetBlue, Frontier, Continental but probably not American or United. It might have changed since I left the company, but if you needed to fly somewhere for free or dirt cheap, it was really easy to do. Check the first page of this forum for more benefits. But flying standby is easy and cheap and you can on the vast majority of airlines. |

I forgot to answer the hours question. They are all over the board. Could be anyhour....most likely it will be a morning shift, an afternoon shift and an evening shift, but the hours are by no means regular and change semi-frequently. |

There's no positions open on the website, I'm constantly refreshing. :( I put in a general app without a job selection so I'm unsure what's going on. |

oh, so you didn't apply directly for an FA position because maybe they had just deleted the posting? I know what that is like! |

Perhaps...I think I first checked them out on the 22nd. Any idea when they'll be open again? :( |

I was surprised there were only 42 responses r.e Horizon..From what I've heard they've been interviewing since Jan.. I've heard most airlines hire in the Spring and Fall if there is a need..Alaska (the Big sis of Horizon) had been interviewing the past few months as well.. |
