Does anyone know anything about Mesaba Airlines? I've noticed that they're holding several open house dates in MSP. |

Just check out their website or the are a few other posts on this forum about Mesaba. Also just so you know in advance, Mesaba and Mesa are not associated or affiliated in any way. |

Its's a great company that about 40 years old. They fly CRJs and Saab Props. I went to an interview and was rejected because of my driving record.....speeders beware!! You cannot have more than 3 offences in 5 years or your out! Bummer for me, because I really wanted to work for them. |

Does anyone know the length of time for flight attendant training with Mesaba? Thanks! |

Jeanie Johnston in Minneapolis, Minnesota 11 months ago |
It's four weeks. Three of the weeks are in classroom training, and the last is training in the air. |

Mesaba gives this test at the open houses and it took me all day to find it .if you google the test there are sites to practice. |

They automaitcally dissqualify you for you driving record, did they tell you that personally? I have had two speeding tickets witin the last 2 years and two accidents which states failure to control vehicle. |

Thats brings to mind the open house last FRI conducted by an HR fellow. During the course of the overview after discussing about five topics, he gave people the option to leave.

Yes, you will be disqualified if you have a poor driving record. I was asked to stay after the open house and they said my driving record would disqualify me, and was it accurate? I was not sure, so they told me to check and give them a call. My brother works as a police officer and printed out my record. It had more than three offences within a five year period. I called Mesaba and gave them the news and I was out. Bummer! |
|

FYI Most states will let you check your driving record from home. I had a ticket about 7 years ago and couldn't remember it. So I went to FL Drivers Lic and followed the prompt and it came up clear. So then just for kicks today I checked WI. If you don't have your drivers lic from other states you can use your social security number to access your record. Never hurts to try Good luck Jeanie I am sorry to hear about your news. |

Heartkin how is the open house for Mesaba? Do you take the test after the presentation? Did they have the usual stand and tell us about yourself like most airlines do? Were there alot of people there? Were there many that were asked to stay after the open house for 1 on 1? thanks for any info you can provied. |
|
heartkin10 in Wisconsin 11 months ago |
The OH went well. Yes we took "The TEST" Yup we had to stand up and tell about a stressful situation, how we handled it and the outcome. But first we had to write it down. There were about 25 in the begining and about 6 left after different areas of presentation. There was only 1 HR person there, so no there were no interviews. The FA assist was a no show. Still waiting for the call. One person that I know of did get called for an interviw. |

HI, I RECEIVED AN INVITATION FOR AN OPEN SESION BUT I AM NOT GOINT TO BE ABLE TO ATTEND BECAUSE OF THE HIGH PRICE OF THE PLANE TICKET. I ALSO RECEIVED BY EMAIL ANOTHE APPLICATION TO FILL IN AN TAKE IT TO THE INTERVIEW. I WANT TO KNOW IF THIS WOULD BE BAD FOR ME IF I DONT ATTEND THE INFORMATION SESION? I WILL BE ABLE TO ATTEND ANOTHER ONE IF POSIBLE. AND I WANTED TO KNOW HOW THE APPLICATION PROCEDURE IS. THANKS AND HAVE A GREAT DAY EVERYONE!! |
|
heartkin10 in Wisconsin 10 months ago |
The faster you get your applications the better. You should attend an open hose if you can it does help. Mesaba is ramping up hiring FA's so it may go a little faster. Compass has been hiring like flying bullits for the last 4 months and I sense things going at a slower pace.
You have to check sites daily for open houses.

I believe Mesaba requires you to attend an open house to be considered for employment - I remember reading that on their website. Compass does not require attendance at an open house, but I've read on this forum that it's helpful in expediating the process...... |

okay I know this sounds crazy, but I was wondering if anyone knew how long it took before they drug tested you. I really want this job and I stopped smoking weed like a week ago for totally different reasons, but then a friend told me about their orientation on the 3rd and I went. I'm not sure if there will be enough time for my system to clear up. HELP:( |

I am new to this forum and glad I found it because I have so many questions. Most important how long are flight attendants away from home on a weekly basis, in the beginning and after a period of time? |
|
FAforEver in Drummondville, Quebec 10 months ago |
Hello everyone! I would like to know when you are in the flight attendant training, is lodging provided?
I am asking these questions regarding my budget. Looking forward to hear from everyone! Thanks, bye! |
|
akkr in Delafield, Wisconsin 10 months ago |
Mine is also scheduled for monday, so unfortunately I won't be able to help you out!! FAforEver, whether or not training is paid depends on the company. Some do, some don't. I believe they all provide lodging. You are responsible for your own food. |

Lodging is provided during training if you live more than 50 miles away from the training area. Training is held in Eagan, Minnesota right by the airport. |

I'm going to the open house in Detroit on Tuesday and i'm so nervous! I need/want this job so bad! So they make you stand up in front of everyone and tell a stressful situation you had and how you handled it? ugh, I don't like doing things like that. Would using a previous work experience be most appropriate for that question? Or could you use a personal one? Oh, and they give you an IQ test? wtf! How high of a score do you have to get?? |

Thanks!! they ask you about all your traffic violations & wrecks -even if they've been dismissed. they say it'll still show up when the fbi runs a report. they ask you about any misdemeanors (etc)they ask what you do to handle working weird hours, about times you went above and beyond your duty for a customer and how they reacted. |
