Hi everyone! I just applied for a flight attendant position in MSP. Anyone want to let me know what to expect next? If they select you, do you get a call pretty quick? I've also heard alot about open houses, interviews, etc. What comes first? Finally, does anyone know if they'll allow you to commute? I live in Omaha, and there are several flights daily to MSP, so that shouldn't be a problem, but I've heard that some airlines require a move.

From your post, I'm going to assume that you applied on line...if interested they will contact you for an open house..then if still interested, they will call you for a f2f interview. Then comes the drug test and background check [finger printing].
For me, the process took around 6 mos. It differs for all. You can get a better understanding of the time line by reading some of the previous posts. Good luck to you...

Thank you for being so positive,are you flying for Mesaba now.I am originally ex NWA and I am going to apply for the position of flight attendant with Mesaba.I miss flying alot,I like the fact that everyday is different and the time just flies by,no two days are the same so I am keeping my fingers crossed I get the job and if I do I am going to fly until they have to force me to stop.

Fear not Paula...I'm 50 and am in the May class. I've been flying for aprox. 5yrs...so you see I didn't even begin my career as an FA until I was 45. If you have flown before you know that maturity is a good thing in this industry. Best of luck to you.

My understanding is that Mesaba is hiring 50 F/A for Msp. Does this mean they'll be based out of Msp? Just what are other locations Mesaba could possibly place you?

It is my understanding that where you go for the interview is where you will be based.

I just put wonderlic test in my search engine and a billion sites came up a lot of them had sample tests, I thought it sucked but still got offered a position. You have 12 minutes to answer 50 questions, no scratch paper or calculators, I was told it is not how many you answer but how many are right out of the ones you do answer, I finished 23, but have no idea what was right or wrong they do not tell you. the best of luck to you, if you read the posts from start to finish you will know exactly want to expect all the way through the process.

Which of the sample test which be best to study. Then I'll applied Just don't want Msp. But it is what it is right. Love your comment stick by ok.

I went to one of the websites offering the Wonderlic practice tests, and I pretty much went through each page practicing. I just applied last week and have yet to hear anything, so I really wouldn't be much help with questions. The test is the same for everyone, same questions are on it, there is not a specific test for each type of job, I took all the samples online I could and had time for, and still I think only 2 of the questions that I answered I had seen on the samples, just read each one carefully and answer to the best of your ability. You finish what you can, and hope for the best. I told everyone where I work now that I was "dumber than dirt", when I got called for the interview they said they must want to see what "dumber than dirt" really looks like. I hated the test because I am not a numbers person, math and I do not get along, never have, probably never will, I loved the reading questions but did not know if I should skip around and just answer those, so I stuck to doing them starting right at number 1 and answered the best I could thru number 23, 12 minutes goes by really fast. Help me please!!! I am a flight attendant trainee, and I'm not from minneapolis but that is where I am going to be based once training is over. i'm looking for a crashpad and I need some help finding one. I
already looked at the airport and didn't have any luck. I'm looking for something under $400 a month. If anybody has any suggestions please let me know.

I'd suggest looking in West St Paul. There are several colleges in they area and you could find a house with some roommates for around 400, and its not to far from the airport. Also check Eagan and Mendota Hieghts for Apartment complexes they are just on the East side across the river from the airport. With the housing market you got to be able to find something!

No, there is only one swandancer I live in Farmington Hills Michigan, don't know why it is saying Oak Park, I did send an inquiry into the board, have not heard back as to why it changed, I have not movved or anything that is so weird. Good luck to you.

I got a phone call this morning from kristen, she was the one who conducted the open house. There are a bunch of intervies set up for next week though, so ill keep my fingers crossed for you. And if a number that you dont know calls you be sure to answer it. I almost didnt untill I noticed that it was an Minnesota number. Good Luck!

Yes it does matter if you have any tickets on your record you will not be hired, at least that is what I have been told, and if you read this site start to finish you will read everything you need to know. Good Luck

It's fine to have a few tickets...you must be forthright about them and acknowledge them upfront. I believe there is a limit to how many you can have over a five year period. Also and most importantly...absolutely no alcohol related incidents.

I could possibly effect you, as with the driving record...just be outfront about EVERYTHING and they won't have any surprises. Best you can do is submit the application.

find your state DMV website and find the link to get your DMV record. I attached mine to my application. I have a lot of friends that are cops and what most people dont know is that sometimes your tickets never make it on your record, especially if they are in a different county. Also, just so you know... always always go to court, dont just pay your ticket. You dont need a lawyer or anything when you go, but most of the time just for being there the judge will give you options to lower the ticket. It will cost $30 to print the record, but at least you will know what is on it. good luck!

I went to the Department of Motor Vehicles her in MI and paid $8.00 and in about 2 minutes I got my record. I told them I had nothing on my record at the interview, and it said I had an accident in 2004, no tickets were issued, I hit a deer on the expressway going about 70 miles an hour, as soon as I seen it was on my record, I called Iris in DTW and told her, she said that was fine, no problem, I was shocked it was there, as no ticket was given I was the only car involved, and the deer was dead, but I did tell them in the f2f interview my record was perfect, so it might be worth it to check it out yourself. I was just notified yesterday, but will be going to the June class instead of May because of some scheduling issues. Hope that you enjoy training!!
