Tang, I've been a FA for two other airlines before and at least with them they do a urine test[ for drugs and poss. illnesses , finger printing and a VERY thorough 10 year back ground investigation...they will call all schools and past employers etc...a credit check, driving record check and a criminal back ground check. I hope that helps. |

|
annonymous in Minneapolis, Minnesota 12 months ago |
Not to be nosy, but why is everyone so concerned with blood work???? |
|
tang in New Hyde Park, New York 12 months ago |

I don't know anything about Hepatitis or Malaria....as long as they aren't contact contagious ...I don't see the problem. I would just be totally upfront with them if those questions are asked...I'm sure you will. |

Julie in Grant, Iowa said: Molly, thanks for replying.... one other question, i left out some part-time jobs that i held in the past from my application.... they were very short-held jobs like one week, or a couple days.... i thought that since they were so short, it wouldn't be necessary to put them down..... should i tell mary at the interview or just refill out an application? it's not that i intentionally left them out, they just seem insignificant.... advice??? |

I wouldn't mention anything... you'll be fine Just have lots of examples of situations that you handled well ( specific) ! like 10 of them atleast, think on your feet, be genuine and smile a lot and you'll be fine If you genuinely like people, are kind , professional and present yourself well, you will get hired |
|
tang in New Hyde Park, New York 12 months ago |
annonymous, they dont fo any blood work for mesaba, right? i dont do illegal drugs, so i'll pass the urien test |
|
annonymous in Minneapolis, Minnesota 12 months ago |
I don't mind answering questions... clearly I don't at all considering I've answered every question I have. But if you choose not to read my prior answers which have already answered your question and you repeatedly ask me over and over again the same thing... well... it's quite frustrating |
|
tang in New Hyde Park, New York 12 months ago |
annonymous. well, i'm just anxious and scared. so i have it set, jsut a urine test and fingerprinting for mesaba, right? anythign else i should know on background checks, what to bring to the interview, etc? |
|
Julie in Grant, Iowa 12 months ago |
Annonymous,
annoying |
|
annonymous in Minneapolis, Minnesota 12 months ago |
dont worry about anything, you'll be fine. Just bring yourself, oh and two forms of ID , if they hire you they take your info on the spot and fingerprint you right there when they offer you the position. Then you have 1 hour to go take your urine test |
|
tang in New Hyde Park, New York 12 months ago |
1 hour?? boy, they get u comin,' they get u goin.' do u have to pay for fingerprinting or the urine test? |
|
annonymous in Minneapolis, Minnesota 12 months ago |

annonymous in Minneapolis, Minnesota said: I wouldn't mention anything... you'll be fine Thanks!!! one more thing though... don't they do employment history checks? or do they just contact your past employers... because if they do check on employment history for the past 10 years, i don't want to leave out anything.... what do you think about employment history checks?... do they really check out EVERYTHING about a person??? |
|

You should just be prepared for them to do an employment check. Theres more than enough space on the applications for you to put all of the jobs you've ever had and then some. I think this all falls under the FBI background check. |

I think this all falls under the FBI background check. do you think having some short-term jobs will affect me from getting hired.... i did talk to the interviewer that i would bringing an updated resume and application to the interview... i filled out the application at the open house and couldn't remember all of the jobs that i've had... now with tax-forms, i updated the info... should i just be honest at the interview? i don't want them to think that i'm lying because i'm not.... gosh, i'm so nervous... i mean, i've been out of high school two years now and i've been in college for one year... i've probably had like 3 odd jobs that didn't last one month and 2 jobs that lasted only 3 months and lastly, two jobs lasting over 6 months... see, have many short-term jobs don't i?.... suggestions? |

No I dont work for Tarta but I didn't know anything about Mesaba until I attended the open house a few weeks ago. They fill you in on everything you need to know about the company and the position. I can probably let you know more after my interview tomorrow though |

Hey Joy, I think it went ok it felt really informal and it took about ten minutes. I had gotten there early and they had interviews going every 10 mins. That kinda had me nervous until I went in and I felt that I did pretty well. They said I'll here from them within a week. Got my fingers crossed |

I think it will be different for everyone depending on work history...I'm 49 so I have a long work history...lol. My trouble came in choosing just one situation per question! You could be thinking about challenging, stressful, and successful situations in the workplace and have them prepared in your mind. This will help you to feel more confidant . I felt that it was one of the most professional interviews I've ever had. Best wishes for the morning and let us know how it goes! |
