Hello, During the F2F interview process, do they go down your resume and ask questions, for example: your reason for leaving previous employers? Even if you provided it on the online application? I did my research regarding the interview process however, they were a bit outdated. I was hoping to have some insight on how the current F2F interviews are conducted. |

Skywest DOES NOT have slides on their planes?? |

For those of you confused or curious on EVACS for Skywest.....This is what you'll learn and be tested on: Land & Water prepared and unprepared emergency evacuations on each aircraft. We do not have slides on ANY of our aircraft and we don't train water ditching in a pool. Someone mentioned in a earlier post that the training was extremely hard. It's only hard if you don't study and you get caught up in "clicks and gossip". Pay attention in class because they review everything you need to know. Make sure you read your AT HOME packet thoroughly. Have whatever you need memorized prior to training. Come prepared! Good luck Skywest is a wonderful company to work for. Have fun with training. You are about to meet a large group of friends you'll cherish forever! |

Can any one give me a run down of what all happened at the OH? I'm attending the Houston kne and would like to be informed of what all is on the agenda for the day. Such as self introductions? Or a script read? Thanks! |

They will have a light orientation at the very beginning to give an "overview" of what the airlines expect for you to commit too, and if you can not or will not commit then that is your opportunity to remove yourself from further interview process..there is no script to read.. |

The training is EXTREMELY HARD I have to agree, its ridiculous, it does not have to be that hard,, GOOD LUCK. most people that pass have been F/A'S before or took classes for f/a, or some may have super roomates that help them if not... GOOD LUCK with this one.... |

You are not kidding the one that did not pass should have been the f/a and the ones that passed are not even there anymore..its a really srewey industry...never again I do not even know how half of these people are hired its a gamble...High School allover again is correct. Its scary once you see what goes on.... |

Its scary once you see what goes on.... That is the silliest thing I have ever heard. Folks, if you can't get it together to pass training at ANY carrier, you simply shouldn't be nor deserve to be a FA until, you are able to pass all qualified training. As for the ones who do pass and choose not to continue in the job or are let go for any number of reasons, that's really not the point here. They were able to not only complete the training, but passed and earn their FAA certification. I'm so sorry your training experience was like high school all over again. That is a very sad turn of events. These should have been friendships and bonds that will
All the best to you... |

Our class mostly got along great, we helped & looked out for each other. True some people didn't make it (4 were sent home, with the possibility of returning at a later date, and 2 or 3 left on their own) but the rest of us are going to be GREAT flight attendants. The instructors were awesome, coming in on their days off just to see us and give us tips.

Went to Skywest OH today In Houston (IAH). Was anyone there today for the interview? There were a lot of people in the classes today. I was chosen to do a one on one interview. I'm so excited. And the recruiters are very nice also. The hardest part for me was getting up in front of the class and giving a speech. You have your speech planned but when u get in front of thr room to tell it, you forget what u were going to say, lol.
Does anyone know if they let you know before then? Thanks |

I will be attending class May 5th (next week!!!) and reading all of the negative comments about training certainly doesn't help. It's obvious it needs to be taken seriously and that paying attention and studying should be priority. It's nice to hear someone who went through it, didn't have anything negative to say. May I ask where you were based and if your class was all sent to the same place or were you spread out? Did many of you get the domiciles you had hoped for?

Did many of you get the domiciles you had hoped for? being negative is not the point..saying the truth about the REALITY of the whole process is the point. If you cant look at it objectively...and all you want to hear is the postitive..then whay your saying is...I want to be in denial..that only negative people say negative things..very immature..very narrow minded..very unrealistic if you think your going to a training thinking all you have to do is study and you'll pass. And other comments about gossiping is not a real reason why people don't make it..gossiping goes on, in any work environment period, they still work. Speaking of hiring the BEST....I have been disappointed by TWO F/A's in the recent weeks..once when the f/a found out I was employed..the customer service went out the window..I was sitting in the last row..she was so busy engaged in a conversation with ANOTHER ailine crew member that was deadheading...she went on and on about her personal situation with SW completely ignored me and the pax in front of me...I eventually grabbed my own glass from her cart...filled my own glass with ice..while she watched me and continued her conversation..I held my glass up for another 4 min..I finally had to say something..she poured my glass with coke WHILE she looked at the crew member and kept on talking..that went on the entire flight..
|
|
spreadyourwings in Colorado Springs, Colorado 13 months ago |
Furthermore..I recently experienced another SW F/A attendant who again was unprofessional the plane was late..while she waited in the general area with the public not once did she smile, not once did she even acknowledge any customer sitting on both sides of her..not once did she engage to a customer and want to even talk..she was very unapproachable...she acted like she got called in the middle of something that was more important..her hair was not combed neatly, no lipgloss or color of any kind..her shoes were by far out of compliance..skuffed, unpolished totally flat beyond the height requirement..and the flight itself was the same..her attitude stunk..and treated the pax's the same as her appearance.."she didn't want to be there"..but she PASSED THE TEST...so once again they do not hire the best..they hire those who can pass for whatever the reasons are at the time the individual can pass..for those who do pass it doesnt make them a better person. She had a poor attitude, unaccebtable behavior..if she were my employee she would have been fired..unacceptable....in fact they need to spend more time on grooming and health and WEIGHT loss..how to keep yourself neat and appearance professional more importantly to be in a positive attitude..smile should be in the mix..body behavior and language should be part of testing..Im sure there are alot that would fail that part..the best comes from within..passing a test has nothing or little to do with who they really are..and an interview is a very small portion of that..the only people that fail are the ones who dont try at all. |

I was interviewed by a recruiter named Rachel - she was very very nice. I think I did pretty well, but it's too early to say I suppose. Hi "that's so Raven" I was in the room (NOT the one closest to the stairs)but the other one.
I am tall and I had on a Navy Blue suit with my hair(dark) all the way pulled back, long hair. And when we were called back for the one on one interview I was probably 4-5 rOws BACK front the front on the left side of the room. What about you? I picked the May 26th training. Which one did you choose. I was interviewed by Annette. Good Luck to you. Did you choose IAH for your base, I did for now. |

OMG, I think you were out in the front after the posted list came out and you were filling out the paper work about the criminal background in a chair. You were wearing a long sleeve white shirt with a high waited navy skirt with your hair up. And if your the one, maybe you remember me saying to you, (while I was sitting in a chair across from you). I said to you, "hey u already look like a flight attendant". You were tall and thin, very professional and pretty (looks like you work work in the gym). Do you remember, There was another girl sitting beside me. She was the younger one and I was a little older lol. You were in total concetration when filling out your paper work. Do you remember? |
