When you arrive each candidate is given a paper and they want you to write a short essay answering this question: If you were on a long haul flight to Asia and could choose anyone to sit next to you who would you choose and why?
After they have collected everyone's papers and passports to make a copy everyone is then led into another room where there are tables that each seat about 5. You will watch a video about the company and be given a quick presentation. Then maybe about 7- 10 recruiters come in and introduce themselves and say how long they have been flying with AA, they all have 20 plus years.
Next is the group activity. Your group is the people who are seated at the table with you. The instructions are to draw a huge circle in the center of the paper with three lines in the middle. On each line your group is to agree on 3 things you all have in common. For example you like to travel, don't have a fear of flying etc. Then each person is to draw a line outside of the circle and write something unique about themselves that no one would ever guess by looking at them. The recruiters will walk around and observe everyone during this time. When the time is up each group will have their chance to stand up in front of the room and everyone states their name then each person must read aloud one of the unique assets someone in their group has. For example, "One of us speaks 5 languages." Then the other groups will have a certain amount of time to guess which unique asset belongs to who. When the time is up and the other groups already have their answers written down the main recruiter will choose one group to read aloud their answers to see how many they got right. Then each candidate in the group standing will reveal which asset was really theirs and explain a little about why it makes them unique etc.

1. Tell me about yourself? Describe your personality traits.
2. Tell me about a time you had to disappoint a customer?
3. Describe a time you saw a co-worker do something that confused
Or surprised you.
4. Describe a time you gave back to your community crediting an
Organization or company.

After the group interview they take you back into the room where the main recruiter will talk about the job as far as reserve pay and so on. This is time when the the other recruiters probably all get together and discuss the interview and chose the people they want to hire. I would pay to be in that room while they're doing this. Anyway te main recruiter will then take questions that anybody has while he/she is doing that the other recruiters will begin coming in pulling out candidates 1 by 1. The people who they call out first are the ones who will get a 1on 1 interview and be fingerprinted, If they only speak to you in the hallway and then escort you to the front you are not going to get hired. The people who they want WILL BE FINGERPRINTED.

Thank you for saying this, it is much better to know.
I was interviewed yesterday, they did not take my fingerprints, no one on one.so I know that I did not get it.
They told us that no decision was being made, that they would review their notes. I really do not know why they are saying this as it is so much better to know what is going on than to agonize waitting for an email and hoping.

Congrats to all that were chosen.

I had my f2f today n didn't get fingerprinted either. And I agree I'd rather them tell me I didn't get the job instead of waiting 2 weeks to get an tbnt email. Geez.

That's too bad. Today was my last day to do it which was successful. I first tried using my iPad but it said I needed flash which I didn't have. So, I then went to my laptop and clicked on the link provided and it worked like a charm. It was totally awkward but it did work and I could see my face and hear the questions clearly. Were you using an iPad, iPhone, laptop or desktop?

they sound a bit deceitful. so true!american airlines should be honest and just say "sorry you did not make the cut" should apologize - thank you -then and wish you good luck.

Hey justagirl the video interview is automated. You'll listen to a question and then you have three minutes to record your answer. They only asked me 5 questions.

Hi, I have an interview coming up. I just have a few questions. They sent me the invite to my email and what to do whenever I get there to Dallas airport (the shuttle vans) and those things. But my questions is, how do I get there? Where do I get a ticket to get to Dallas? They told me I don't have to worry about that - but I haven't received more emails about how to get to Dallas. Do I need to pay for my flight? Please help and I really appreciate all your help and comments that you guys been putting.

I got the email for the f2f invite on a Friday. I received the complementary flight itinerary the following Monday for a Wednesday flight. If you don't have your information at least 2 days in advance, I'd contact the number on the interview invitation.

I have an interview in Dallas this upcoming Friday and I was told that a passport was required. However when I spoke with the rep who called me with the news of the interview, she told me that a receipt of the passport was fine. Do any of you know if that is the case. I might have to reschedule if my passport can't come in time and I would hate to show up to the interview with my passport receipt just to be told that I can't continue. PLEASE HELP.

I am from Shreveport as well and have applied for F/A with AA. How long did it take you to get the f2f interview from the time you submitted your application? Did you already do the video interview as well?

I agree with jetsetstewardess...I am at DFW now and just finished my interview for a flight attendant. It was fun, it seemed to go very well, I felt like I made an impression but wasn't sent to get my fingerprints done so I'm taking that as a "no Thank You".
I rode with 3 other girls from the same interview on the shuttle to the airport and only 1 of the 4 of us were fingerprinted and given the "reach test". She was young, tall and thin. She really looked the part. Her name was Oprah..."You go Oprah!"
So we all understood that because we didn't get a one on one, fingerprinted and the reach test...she will be moving forward and we will not. They definately know what they are doing at the interviews...it was fun, and stress free. I enjoyed my interview and time meeting everyone and just chock this up to another experience and learning lesson that didn't go the way I had anticipated. Good Luck all of you that moved on in todays interviews...will see you on a flight soon! ;)

What do you feel benefitted you through the online interview process? Would you have changed your answers? I just did an online interview and I wish I used the full 3 minutes to respond but I feel like what I said got my point across. Maybe speaking the whole time would have been a downfall. Jacy I didn't get selected by definitely study the questions they were different in the group interviews just three questions 1. Tell us about yourself and if you were hiring for the position what qualities should you look for 2. Name a time ou helped a customer with limited resources 3. They gave you cards and you read the questions and answered more like an ice breaker. I think I was too confident just be yourself and don't try to outshine anyone your personality speaks for itself. They will provide your itinerary a few days before your flight don't worry when you get to the fat you call a number that would be provided to you then they give you directions and a shuttle will pick you up and take you to HQ dress like never before!red lipsticks wear a jack and suit panty hoes flesh tone and look really nice.... Be friendly talk to everybody. Eye contact

That is just standard. The airlines always pay to fly the people to the F2F, at least the big ones do. Having said that, you most def have a shot, it takes a lot just to get to the face to face. Good Luck!
