I have a few tips that will help. There are websites that monitor airlines and inform you when airlines are hiring and which ones have open houses. I have been applying to airlines for a few months now. Each time I do better and it's from learning from previous boo-boos. Always be early to open houses. At least 30 minutes. When called for a phone interview, remember the recruiters name and periodically address him/her by name. Don't say his/her name after every sentence though.

Make sure your answers include your customer service skills, your ability to work in groups (team player), your awesome communication skills, and how well you deal with unexpected/unfamiliar circumstances and/or people.

Of coarse be flexible and willing to relocate.

When asked "why do you want to become a FA?"
Don't just tell them that: you love flying/ it's always been your dream/ your fascinated by the lifestyle/ etc.
Do add that: you love being social/ like meeting people of all different cultures and personalities

Refer to it as a career choice. Not just a job.

Do research on the company.

And study answers to the possible questions. These can be found online on many websites.

I'm not a flight attendant yet. Emphasis on YET =)
These are just some tips I've seen on the web that have been working for me and have worked for some of the people I've been meeting who are also persuing the FA career.

Also, I've realized that if they tell you that they will "review your documents/resume/application" they probably won't hire you. I could be wrong.

If anyone wants details to specific interviews just ask me I'll post.

I have been invited to a presentation/interview with Republic Airlines for a flight attendant. Does any one have any recent experience with presentations or interviews with this Airline?

I left USAirways after 10 years. Make sure answers gear towards making the passanger happy. Not what you cannot do for them but what you CAN do. Eye contact is important. Smile ALOT. If you are one day greeting passangers as they board you will find the reality of the job is much different then what is presented. 90% of the good part is the crews you work with and the overnights. Maybe 10% is the passengers. At least in this day and age.
SMILE SMILE SMILE!!! Dont forget your main job as a flight attendant will be the safety of your passengers.

Be Happy and always smile. Please stress your customer service skills and abilities. Always put customers first and be extra positive. tell them this is passion for you and a career for you...not just a job. If relocation and salary comes up, tell them no problem, there is no challenges whatsoever.

Good luck!!!!

p.s: try to dress as much like them as possible. This will give them a first ipmression as you being a FA alrdy!!

I did just that a week ago and was employed by Continental.

See ya...let me know

Michael in Frankford, Delaware said: If you have ever applied to an airline before, and have NOT been hired, READ THIS! I was a Flight Attendant Recruiter for a major airline for a short time, also a FA for 7 years. There are many things that we must SEE and HEAR to be considered as a prospective flight attendant. We do look at the "Entire Package" that YOU are presenting. From the moment you walk into your interview and exit the facility. Here are some GREAT TIPS to success in your interview process.
1. Do Your RESEARCH before you go on your interview. Buy a book, talk to other flight attendant.
2. Resume must be Outstanding, including an OBJECTIVE.
ex: I am highly enthusiatic, team player, and am willing to RELOCATE to any base. We want to see that you are FLEXIBLE.
3. Dress the part. Wear a professional suit that makes you look like a flight attendant. Ladies- every piece of hair must be pulled up and tight.
4. Talk the part. They like to see that your social and interactive with others. This is why we conduct a GROUP INTERVIEW. We are taking note of your interactions with others. TALK TO PEOPLE IN THE ROOM.
5. Have CONFIDENCE in yourself when you sit with your recruiter in your one-on-one. We as a company want to know why we should hire you. DO NOT say "because I love people and want to travel". This is the obvious. Ex: I want to work for a company that offers a world of "diversity" such as _________ airlines, and that exceeds their customers expectations on a daily basis.
6. Make DIRECT eye contact with your interviewer. We like to see that you have an interest and focus in the job.
7. Conclude your interview with confidence. ex: I hope to hear from you soon, and thank you for your time today. Manners go a LONG WAY.

BTW- Most airlines, again, most airlines, (not every airline) USUALLY let you know on the spot if you have been hired. Often times we will say, "Can you excuse me for just a moment", and bring back your offer of acceptance
