There don't seem to be any jobs in ohio either. I'm a designer with 10 years of experience and can't find anything that pays decent. so i'm looking into taking my floral design experience into landscape design. I believe I have some transferable skills but not formal schooling. how do I break into such a position? I would be gald to here what anyone has to say.

I've never been one to care much about how much i make an hour to do what I love, I would just love to work for someone who appreciates what I can do with not only fresh flowers, but the permanents as well. For the past ten years, I have been working mainly with the permanents, a virtually untapped market, and love the way they can be manipulated into any shape or form with absolutely no trouble....the last few weddings I have done have been "permanents" and were beautiful, they(the artificial flower) have come a long way in the past 10 to 15 years, and i have noticed more of a demand for these type arrangements..If I were going to spend two to three hundred dollars fro an arrangement, I don't want to throw it out after a week, and with the "cleaners" on the market, permanents seem to be what more and more customers are leaning towards....
