I'm interested in becoming a agent. I don't have any experience. I really can't afford to pay for school at this time. Is there is someone who is willing to train me? I'm looking for an opportunity to learn about this part of the transportation industry. I have everything that is needed to run a home office. Any help is appreciated. |

If you cannot aford to pay for the training, how are you going to be able to wait for your pay from the broker? |

We can get anyone who is interested in becoming an agent set-up the same day with us. It is a matter of teaching the individual how to actually move freight for companies. Signing an agent up is the easiest part, it is providing them with the skills necessary to be a successful agent for years to come. Another one failing in the freight business that is trying to trick people for money to teach them how to broker freight. A successful broker, would have their own company and try to recruit agents and not try to sell a course. |

Georgi in Chicago, Illinois 13 months ago |
I'm sorry to inform you "John Hodur" but i could
We also have our agents set up the very same day.

I am an agent for a really good Company called Lazer Networking. The parent company is the 3rd largest 3pl to Ford, Chrysler and GM. Call me and I will explain the system to you. The Bennefit with them is that not only can you broker freight, but you can also move container loads on the rail. Not many offer that for you and believe me the demand is there. |
|
Agent Protector in Princeton, Illinois 13 months ago |
Right Paul, Anyone can move container freight, but do you have trucks? There are so many pie in the sky people out there who say things but can't back it up. Can't find Lazer Networking on any search engine (at least first 4 pages) If they were that big, you'd find their webpage. You said the demand is big for rail moves, well, if you want to move things on rail, you have to have contacts. I have moved things on rail and it's tight. Before this, I used to be a rail shipper, shipping containers is a tough business. Folks, know who you are working for. |
|
Paul in La Puente, California 13 months ago |
Hey, I must have explained things incorrectly. First Laser Networking is a subsidiary of a larger company that is privately held called CFS industries. They have about 30 companies under their belt Laser Networking being one of them. Laser Networking is an agent program only and not the one that is the 3pl for the big 3. I believe that one is called Innovative Logistics. As for dedicated trucks, hey thats great, good for you. I prefer brokering myself. The point I was trying to make with Intermodal is that we do it direct. No need to get defensive about it and no not anyone can do it. It is a much more difficult industry, but the demand is high. Furthermore if you are going to broker or be an agent that means you are going to have a customer base. Why not have most services available to them, so you can make more money and save them time. Sorry if I wasn't clear earlier. |
|
Agent Protector in Princeton, Illinois 13 months ago |
No offense taken and I didn't mean to be hard except the way you put it made it sound like it is an untouched market. As far as trucks are concerned, the competition for trucks is fierce. If you don't have a good following, you're out of luck. I was one of the shipping coordinators for a billion dollar copper tube company. We shipped by rail everyday. Brokers were the worse as they "claimed to have trucks and didn't" They are the ones that have made it hard for other brokers in the rail shippers arena. |

Additionally, I can detail our training for you. Please visit my profile and email me directly. If you'd rather visit our website and use the contact page, that's fine too. |

No, not really. Ltl is very competitive and very involved with NMFC classifications and discount structures. You may want to call a local LTL company and ask someone if there would be an opportunity to "job shadow" someone. |

Becoming a broker agent is easy. Finding customers seems to be the hard part. After banging my head against the wall for a month or so, I ran across a product that saved me. Now I find new customers on a daily basis. How did you folks go about finding new shippers? |
