Terry I'm looking to step away from corporate America and truly become an entrepreneur. I've done some research on freight brokerage as a business but I would greatly appreciate your assistance and insight. I have strong business acumen and believe my work ethic will solidify my success. I basically need help from the ground up in regards to how to set up the business, how to target matches, if I should concentrate on a particular niche and the routine paperwork requirements. I know that's a long list and I realize you are busy so any guidance would be deeply appreciated. Please email me at <contact information removed> |

If you allready own your trucking company than just file for your BOC3 and get the authority to do so. It will be very easy for you to do this. Go to the FMCSA and look it up. |

What else do I need to do? get a surety bond or trust, the company should forward proof to FMSCA once they have set you up with one Once that has happen, just wait for them to make your authority active. Once that that is done the will send out you actual authority and remember you can not do any business with out the actual Authority in you hands. (Waiting period is three to 4 weeks) Good Luck and Many Blessing |

Hello my name is Larry and I am currently a regional truck driver. I am very eager to become a freight agent. I am a novice to that industry however I have a background in sales. I figured that if I can learn the mortgage business and do well at it then I can definitely excel in brokering freight. I am looking for a freight broker that will train me so we can make money together as long as the commission split makes sense. I already have the set up of a laptop, fax, internet, and phone. All I need now is the guidance. My email address is in my profile. Please contact me. |

Hi Terry it seems you are very popular on this site! I am starting out as a sub contractor with my mom, she has an existing freight broker co. I will help her so she can retire soon but I want to bring in new shippers (customers) and it seems confusing on who to look for and how to market my services. Could you help me or direct me somewhere? I see all these pay web pages that promise big things but I'll bet you have a thing or two to say! Serious in Fl |

Carla aka Barbara why don't you just give him his money back. Would that make everyone happy I paid for some training that was more an outline and the seller can't be contacted but in this case you are contacted so lets get on with freight brokering don't go with a company unless they can prove they are who they say they are ask questions and then ask some more. |

I told everyone here to "BEWARE" of these type of people... Who claim to want money for training. We train people for free here, but right now we are not taking any more AGENTS on board. (Unless you know what you are doing...) For people who want to learn on their own, We also sell a training video for $39.95 plus shipping, its 4 hours of Freight Broker Trainging that includes the paperwork you need to get started. Well Carla-Barbra who ever you are today "THE JIG IS UP!!!" |
|
For $39.95 you offer training Isn't that wanting money for training? You ask people to stay away from the people who want money to train. I think wanting money to train is resonable I just think that if you don't get your money's worth its a rip off. I have been posting for a couple months on different training. I think that is you are hiring an agent its okay to charge for training and then refund the money once they work for you for a few months. So I think money for training is okay. |

The reason I am where I am financially is because of a broker lying and not paying me and taking my customers. Wendy, give your real name sweetie. You and I were cool when you called me and we talked about the other people in here. Wow, nothin but some backstabbers. You see I am still here, training and everything. |
|
Lisa 087 in Frankfort, Kentucky 1 month ago |
You have been honest with him, I admire you. Search first the company and ask for referrals, I am talking about a person that has been train by them. Also ask what alse you get with the training, if you do not get some customers how are you going to be able to start working immediately, it takes time to find shippers to work with you and to give you good loads. Well there are a few people here that now know your a crook, I just took a call from one. I offered you a job as a freght broker even offered to pay you more than I would others because of what kinda years you said you had doing it. But once you started asking for money for a light bill and wanted money up front, I SAID NO WAY! You must be wanting something for nothing. And you didn't turn me down we turned you down, Carla - Barbra who ever you are, I know there are people out there that want training and if you say you can give it than they are still going to strust you I guess nothing I or anyone else can do about it. No one is slamming you, just letting people know who they are dealing with. So you get a grip and QUIT using the LORDS name to do it. |

That is paying for something you acually get not something you are promised, I've been doing this long enough to know what I'm doing.(20 years plus) So I had a video made of what it takes to do this type of work and I'm not charging an arm & a leg for it. and yes my Agents get this for free... And if they want to come and work for me I will refund it for the video back. |

I was only pointing out that you say no one should charge for training I never said your training was bad I never took your training or do I know of anyone that has. I see no problem with people charging for training I only see a problem with them ripping people off. You keep saying in your post that training shouldn't cost and then you want to sell something thats all. I just wish you wouldn't say that it shouldn't cost I think it should cost. The hours invoved shouldn't come free. Just tell people to beware of what they are buying. |
