Was just going over the pro's and con's of going out on my own . But was told should have at least 200,000 line of credit needed. I was looking at factoring but the low margines on freight one could be in the red real fast . Without paying agents offices expenesses other cost any one want to help me out here ...What am I missing ....?

I don't know if you would need that much money but you would need money to carry yourself over from waiting for your customers to pay and paying your carriers, if your talking about the broker business.Thats just one of the expenses you would incur in going out on your own. There's getting yourself bonded or insured, getting your authority just to name a few.Things that most of these schools won't tell you until they get your cash.So basically your not really missing anything except information. Terry,
Thanks been an agent a long time so do understand the pitfalls pay 500.00 to 5000.00 and still not know the facts you would not belive some of the stories I have heard ...But freight brokers and attorneys bottem feeders, then driving and broker schools and truck driver recuiters ... Time for the boys is Washington to do something things are out of hand . Think it is time not sure the 100,000 bond is it but something maybe 5000.00 lic fee not 300.00 .
