OK Bob, obviously your a newbie because you expect a quote but you failed the rest in a big way because you did not provide the specs to quote it. Sounds like you need to stay away from the bigger stuff since you are still reading from your "new book".

Are we not a little bold yes I did But that is part of the test ..First you need the specks you got part one right almost. ( How many people call for a quote that knowes what the specks are it is up to the agent to verify what the shipper tell him.

I have been booking freight longer than you have your an accountant ...that is what I read somewhere ....Your really hard core here just making a point ..That you missed

I am not an accountant...although I am good at it. For your info, I move a lot of heavy haul. All you said was "I have a DC 9 cat to move from St Marys Landing NJ to La need a quote port to port
rail and truck" and all I wanted to say is in order to quote you need specs. Listen, obviously you have a difficult time with these schools. I don't. Why? Because I don't need to hire these people from these school. I am a broker and would very likely not hire people who came through a "school". I move 19-35 axle loads and have been doing this for longer than you think. Let's just put it this way, anyone can write a book, but not everyone can make money. Stop being arrogant!

Mr. Broker.

Maybe your not who I think you are Not being arrogant ....I did have something in mind when I started this ...but now some good information will be lost ....Just felt that we could add some worth while post that could help out and learn from. Being a broker is tough....not 9 to 5 . you do not have any idea the stories I have heard .. some of us make good money some do not only about 2% of the agents make it ..granted 90% were not cut out for the job or had the skills to make it . I will stop here and stop posting was just adding my 2 cent worth to help out and make this a place to learn .

Bob,

I agree. This should be a learning and grooming area. There are a lot of misinformed people in this forum. WHere I took offense was the final sentence of your post "I will bet dinner non of you can give me the steps to quote this load" That sounded more belittling than educating. I agree, brokering isn't for the weak. I have paid my dues and have also heard many stories. The only reason I even come to this board is because I want to see if there is something being said about my company. Have a good day.
