Barbara sounds like Carla Mitchell to me. Who would have an "abundance of leads" to give?? I would not be giving any leads to anyone just because there are "many" to go around. I moved $1MIL in freight today and think there are people one this board who act like communists. This is a free country! You get leads through "true" networking, not from some one elses used up list. If you want a lead list, go to the internet. |
|
Mr Broker in Chicago, Illinois 4 months ago |
I don't move my freight using leads bought by another broker just like I don't act like I am someone that I am not. Too many people on here sound like they should be selling AMWAY!!!!! |

Such bitterness. The leads that I was offering are some that I hadn't ever called on. So quick to pass judgement. I don't know you. Good night. |

You contradict yourself speaking of communism but stating that my offering leads is wrong. I don't get it. I have so many that it isn't a big thing to pass them a long. They have never been called on by myself or anyone that I have worked with. This business is competitive enough. I think that helping someone with the most tedious part of the industry, may help someone actually make it. As I have said before, Carla had a mastectomy and not really wanting to come back into this. I am taking over her accounts and merging some things. |

Hey Barbara! I am not new to trucking, but I am kind of new to this agent thing. I am needing a little help in taking the steps needed to go out here and get some customers. I was a driver for many years, but didn't need to locate a lot of freight and then I was a safety supervisor, so you know where my area of expertise is. But now, my health is really crappy and I need to work out of my house. I can still go out to meet people and make sales calls. Can you help me in learning what I need to be successful in this? I think I'm on the right track, but my father isn't here on earth any longer for me to get some advice from. I really need a mentor and I will not forget anyone who helps me to be successful. I just can't pay for any service right now, but once I start making some money, I have no problem with giving back to the person who helps me. I am not in it to get rich. I just love it. I just want to stay in trucking as much as possible and feel like I have a purpose. I am a go getter and very good with people. I have a couple of customers who don't ship very often but it's a start. I just started as a agent about 2 weeks ago. I love this type of work because I feel that I can help both the shipper and the carrier with their needs. But I could never be dishonest with anyone so am I in the wrong area of this business? I don't think dishonesty belongs anywhere in business and that's the way I was raised. Do you think you could help me? If so, please <contact information removed> I hate to put my email address on here, but I really need someone to mentor me and like I said, I do not forget those who have helped me. |

Hi all, I am not at all understanding why everybody is concened with finding freight. OMG there is so much freight out there its incredible. I work under the authority of another, most important is working with a company that has trucks. You can have thousands of shipper clients and not one truck..so what good is your freight if you cant move it. I turn down shipper clients for trying to pass off crap loads on my drivers. Drivers need loads they can earn a living with. I have client it georgia, that pays about $1.65 mile for flat bed loads, i dont even post her stuff, more money....bottom line. The buck buds days are over for these shippers as well as the broker lining his pockets with the drivers money. Brokers are going under at leaps and bounds. If you get shipper clients and cant move their loads guess what you loose your client. If you have drivers that find out your milking their pot and trust me they do find out. Then you got no trucks. This is a large industry but a small community. Trying to find shipper clients go to manta, use its resources its free, network network network...use your imagination sign up for alerts and start bidding on govenment loads. This is not that difficult people. I started my business only four months ago and I have already hired six agents...we spend 99% of our time dispatching and absolutely no time for finding shipper clients. If you got trucks you got all you need the rest is free. GOOD LUCK ALL..TAKE IT EASY ITS NOT THAT DIFFICULT. |

Im gonna post this once and once only. I started working as a broker/dispatcher for large company a few months ago. Now heres the deal It was miracle job, dont come around that often. Truly blessed to have it cuz i knew nothing about brokering or dispatching. I work out of my home for a large logistics agency. Started out wanting to do brokering...ending up dispatching most often I like it best. I have hired and trained each of the girls and guys on our crew. I have had to hire five others as of today. And now willing to help others that want to learn brokering and dispatching hands on and getting paid for what you do right now. Anyway heres the gig...you work out of your home--THIS IS NO NOT SPARE WORK, no such creature in this buisness..YOU WILL WORK...you must have a phone...you must have internet access and be able to multitask...you must have good communications skills...you must stay online with our crew as you are training. You will never be asked for money not a dime. You can stay with us working and getting paid on your loads as you load them but hope you will use the experience to create a client base, and move on to becoming employable by other reputable companies. Why? Beacause I make nothing from your work so it is not advantages to keep you working with me. Im only doing this as pay back for my own blessing. As example of how you will get paid and this is immediate. My first load today was quoted at $6000.00, miles on trip were 2,400 there is a fure surcharge that must begiven to the driver its figured like this 2,400 miles on trip x current .60 our company pays= $1440.00 now subtract this amount from the $6000.00 which give you a line haul amount of $4560.00 you take that times 5% = $288.00 Your Pay for this Load. Thats it in nutshell, if your interested call me Marty <Edited by Host: contact info removed> |
