Expedite Carriers “When it absolutely, positively has to be there overnight.” During our lifetime, there have been some really great business advertising slogans. Remember KFC’s: “Finger Lickin’ Good”? According to the Advertising Slogan Hall of Fame, that’s one of the all-time best. Federal Express’ slogan referenced above is up there with the best of them. That slogan has come to epitomize a relatively new segment of the trucking industry called “expediting”. But expediters very often deal not only with overnight transportation… but same day service. In fact, Fed Ex is in the expediting game with its Custom Critical Division… |

Whether it’s parts needed for an assembly line, dwindling inventory levels, sensitive shipments requiring temperature control or unexpected shipping emergencies, whatever the shipper’s critical-shipment need, FedEx Custom Critical has a solution. Fed Ex specializes in same-day shipping and the overnight delivery of critical freight. Fed Ex offers time-definite solutions for shipments not requiring exclusive use of a vehicle. They have surface options, including exclusive-use vehicles and expedited LTL solutions. Their Air Expedite Division offers an array of expedited air solutions to meet any critical delivery time. The Fed Ex White Glove Services® are available for shipments requiring extra care in handling, temperature control and specially equipped vehicles. Of course, Fed Ex wouldn’t be Fed Ex without International Solutions to help get freight to and from Canada, Mexico and beyond. Who uses Fed Ex Custom Critical? The U.S. Government is one Fed Ex shipper. Shippers of fine art also trust Fed Ex. Ready to rush into expediting? Well then, check out their website: customcritical.fedex.com. |

Every day, thousands of visitors to ExpeditersOnline.com search the site for news and information about industry happenings, new trucks and equipment, and the employment deals expedited carriers are currently offering owner-operators and drivers. ExpeditersOnline.com also features an active online community forum where expediters can ask questions of their peers, compare notes, and acquire information on how to increase their profitability. When getting into expediting, you can become a company driver, become a leased-on owner-operator, or get your own operating authority. By now, you surely know that I’m in the business of helping folks get their own authority (call DOTAuthority.com to learn more). If you do get your own authority, then you’ll next need to find loads. One great resource is the load board www.expediteloads.com, which specializes in expedited freight. Online since 1999, they have three load boards, including an “Urgent Response” board. Once you become an expedite carrier, you might consider networking with your fellow expediters in the industry through “TEANA”; that is: “The Expedite Alliance of North America”. Member benefits include: networking to acquire new business, sales and operational ideas, addressing common industry issues like DOT Regulations, and participating in group buying/volume purchase agreements for fuel, tires, maintenance, wireless, insurance, etc. |

Does anyone know what websites I can visit that I could post a listing for a freight agent. Or where I could find a qualified freight agent/broker to work with? As a freight broker our company is growing and we have a need to hire an agent to help us with our loads etc... |
