I have just started as a broker and see lots of the large trucking companies also have brokerage firms and post loads available. Any one know the rules for co brokering or if they even allow you to do that for them. |

It is called double brokering and it is frowned upon. Too many hands in the pot so less $ to you. |

To me if the same load is listed by more than one broker, it is double brokering. The same goes for these new "Freight Management Services". They are people that are essentially agents but for more than one broker. It sounds interesting. Just not sure about it. |

I don't think it is so much an ethical issue as it drives the rates down too much. I have never had a good experience with them....they are now called Freight Management Services.

Here's some fairly good verbiage concerning co-brokering/double brokering and re-brokering courtesy of the TIA. If you're going to co-broker as a general practice, I would suggest using a similiar contract. Cut & Paste the following link...
If for some reason it doesn't work, visit www.tianet.org. There's a co-brokering contract right in the middle of the home page. Best of luck! Josh |
