I had the same problem for a while with my extensions, until i went to a salon that had a few types of extensions in different price ranges (hairlocs, Great lengths...)... I talked to the salon about the different types of extensions, how they last, they told me that they had this new hair, i had never heard of it. It's really great hair, not extremely expensive, i paid $8 a strand to get them put in, about 1000 bucks... i've had it in for about 3 months now, it still looks shiny and no tangling! Ask your salon to check out aqua hair extensions- good luck with finding great hair!

Hi everyone, I'm looking for some help here. Similar to one of the above posts I have heat fusion extensions (SoCap) and now that most of them have fallen out I'm horrified at how my natural hair looks. It has always been very fine and on the thinner side, but now I have almost nothing left! I refuse to walk around with thin hair cut to my ears. Does anyone know of a different method that I could use once I get these out? I am willing to travel to NY, NJ, MA, NH, RI, VT pretty much anywhere within a 2 hour vicinity. |

I understand what you mean..I stopped using socap and gl because they are a total pain to remove...i have since been using pierre diamond...but the main thing here is how are your extensions being installed and removed (how harsh is the stylist) and how are you maintaining them...i havent had any breakage as i have had mine installed professionally...threfore no snapping when i brush and they are removed with ease and very gently....being pure keratin is key..this way your hair isnt wrapped in glue!!..you should only have issues if the hair is not genuine and of course, as i said, how the install and take down are done....good luck to you...i hope this helps a bit... |

I wore the same method you are having trouble with and thought my hair would never be the same ever again. I researched almost everyday on the internet til I found the cylinder method. Your hair is attached to the hair extensions by a bead. It is the safest method and thanks to my stylist my hair has grown out a obscene amount compared to what it was a year ago. I currently go to Christina, who is amazing but there might be someone closer to you. Just becareful like Jackie said above of how your stylist handles your hair. Hair is ONLY meant to be handled gently. For more information on this method, www.hairgoddessofny.com. |

Hi All! Ok so I have been going nuts looking for a better line of hair for my clients lately, watching the forums, trying to see what is out there opinion wise. GL is driving me up a wall! I ordered this comparable brand sample from www.pierrediamondtrends.com and spent some time messing around with it. I'm impressed! I went ahead and did an install using pierre diamond and i truly found tangle free hair! Its just been so hard to find the real stuff lately with the econmy making everyone cut corners. Im recommending this company without a doubt!

gg in Clarendon Hills, Illinois 39 months ago |
But after how long are they still TANGLE FREE. I've purchased some beautiful pieces, however after a few weeks they begin to tangle ...how can REAL hair do that? |
|
JessicaRasa 39 months ago |
From my personal experience wearing them, which I've worn them straight for 3+ years now (obviously with intermediate take downs and new installs) they are tangle free. FOr being a stylist, I am the WORST when it comes to high maintenance hair...I do all the "donts" sleep with wet hair, dont comb it often or at night, I'd swim and not bother with immediate conditioning or combing, etc etc. I never sleep with a braid or pony tail. Very long hair with a medium level thickness/european texture should have a comb through it daily of course...you'd end up with a normal knot..but as far as tangling..not a chance, I'd be out of business and I am assuming so would they! those pieces that tangle after a few weeks may be coated well with silicone..once that washes away, the true cuticle (if not synthetic strips here and there) ping right though. I would have returned those pieces and demanded my money back! Pierre DIamond offers refunds for first time buyers, i see now its for a good reason...cocky of them but the product is superb! |

I currently have the microlinks but I think they are doing more harm than good. To the ladies who have had the microchet done. How long did the process take and what was the price for a full head? Also where did you purchase the hair? |

There is WAY too much advertising on this thread! Does anyone know what schools teach extensions as continuing education? Not mfg education, but and actual school? I want to learn all methods, not just one persons favorite. You should NEVER go to someone that is not licensed because there is no accountability. At least if a licensed stylist does them you can go through a complaint process with various state agencies. |

Can you please give me some details on the extensions? How is your real natural hair? Is it damaged? What about maintenance, how much is the maintenance fee appx? I am trying to grow my natural hair long and want extensions in the process. Do you think this is a good choice? I would greatly appreciate your response. I would like to get my hair done before my birthday in July. |

Adriane in Texarkana, Texas said: Hi, I had the glue extensions in for about 6 weeks. My advise is not to do them on yourself. You will not be able to see what your doing, and can turn into a disaster MAJOR! Try going to a cosmetology school and let one of the students do it on you. Once you see how its done, and what it feels like, you will be able to do it on someone elses hair. My best friend at cosmetology school put mine in, and when it came time to put hers back in, i had no problems. She even got her 8 year old daughter to put hers in once at home. I do my own weaves, and they always come out great. Mybe you need to work on your skills a little bit more. Dont disencourge others from doing their own hair. They can with practice. With enough practice you can do it too. |

I have recently went to Patricia's Famous Salon, contrary to what is stated. They do NOT have all different hair types. They put the same hair on every person. The hair is like hay, which I paid $2700 for. My second set non-the-less!!! Patricia is extremely rude an unprofessional. She passed me onto her mother, when the next best thing entered the salon. She puts so many extensions in your hair, that they don't stay and you have to keep going back every 6 weeks, which she then charges you over $300 every little visit. A maintenance should be every 3 months. I don't want this to happen to other people, because the way I felt was worthless. I have taken my extensions out now and am on the search for a new hair dresser. Any suggestions, would be of help. Thank you. |

The difference is night and day and $1000 less than what I paid at Patricias. The quality is just terrific, even in the beginning when I had hair placed on else where it never felt like this. And to have someone do my hair who is a genuine sweetheart means a lot. I truly couldn't be happier at this moment. For those looking for a new stylist pay the hair goddess a visit! |

I want to attempt them on myself and would like to know if anyone has any pointers? I wanted to go with the pre-bonded ones with the heating tool. Any help would be greatly appreciated!!! i love the pre bonded ones we use the cinderella ones in our shop here in mt and to see how well they hold are wonderful! you do have to be licensed to do these but the class is only about $650 well worth it..best of luck |
