I've been looking into a strong solution for head lice. Needless to say, these little buggers are an unnaceptable problem and I want to confront them quickly.

So I found this all-natural product site (micronutra.com) and their lice product called Licenex. I guess it uses enzymes to break up the exoskeleton on the lice, and it uses peppermint oil and a "surfactant blend" to remove the nits and kill the lice. I think this seems like a very effective treatment. Have any of you guys had experience with this product?

I own a head lice and nit removal service in the Portland, Oregon area and I use an enzyme based product, but not that particular one. What I use is extremely effective and I'm all for non-toxic, pesticide free lice treatment.

the best thing i have ever used is blue plate mayo, sounds crazy but my daughter got lice at school and i had done spent tons of money on all kinds of things. soak the whole head with it and wrap a towel around it sleep with it in your hair and when you wash it out the next day they will all be dead.

You can try www.licetokill.com worked for our family! Good luck pal. Lice are not a fun thing to have to deal with. Be sure to get rid of them in the house too, or you will just get them back again.

good luck!

Head lice are horrible. I have been learning so much about them lately. checked out a lot of info on www.picturesofheadlice.net they are more gross than I thought they would look. Mayo doesn't work too well, but you can always cut the hair really short too. That helps anyway...

Most people don't realize that OTC lice products/shampoos can be harmful, and nowadays, many strains of lice have become immune to them anyways!

Pesticide based lice shampoos are full of chemicals that are known or suspected to cause cancer, negatively affect the nervous system, or have other harmful effects. The scalp is one of the most absorbent parts of the body – especially in children, and products that are applied to the scalp get picked up directly by the bloodstream, without being filtered in any way. That means that these harmful chemicals are being put directly into your or your child’s system. Even products termed "organic" or "all natural" are not promised to be safe - always be extremely careful about what you apply to your skin, especially your scalp. Even many natural oils, such as peppermint oil and lavender oil, that are marketed and sold to treat head lice, can be toxic and irritating.

The safest, most effective way of eliminating lice is manual lice removal.
