johnny collins in Charleston, West Virginia said: i am learning...that's how you learn by asking...but I sure do wish I was born all-knowing like you. Hey im sorry if I hurt your feelings but dint they teach you the 1 to 1 rule about digging in school? Im not trying to pick on you but I feel bad for people that pay alot of money for training and they are getting the shaft. Everything I have learned was from watching listining or asking. I still learn alot every day just takes alot of time. |

You got to remember something. There are a lot of guys out there with a lot more experience than you who are not working right now. When they see someone asking a question like that it really burns them. You didn't hurt my feelings,I gave you an answer that would simplify your problem. The simplest way to make a safe trench is to Bench each side of the trench about 2ft down from the top and about a buckets width wide on each side. You're really lucky to be working right now.A really good web site to go to is the OSHA site for "Competent Person".This will show you about sloping and benching a trench. Good luck. |

We have actually sent resumes to AZ, NV, UT, TX, getting almost back to South/Northeast United States. I'll check for HEO positions on Indeed and some of the others. What are they paying on average out there? Cali is in pretty rough shape right now, and only seems to be getting worse. Have applied with KBR to go overseas. Thanks |

johnny collins in Charleston, West Virginia said: I know exactly what you mean I paid dearly to attend a heavy equipment school in Alabama also. They had "job search assistance", what a joke!!! Some of their job leads were not even in business any more and all of the others either want you to relocate and work for $10 an hour or did not want to talk to you unless you had at least 3 or 4 years experience. I have a CDL and am a truck driver all the employers I talked to want me to drive a truck, something I have been trying to get away from for the past 5 years or so!! I call it the CDL Pleage. If I wanted to drive a damn truck, why would I pay $10,000 to go to school??? I think most employers look at heo school graduates as fools. Luckily I found a job driving an articulted dump truck and at the spare of the moment got shoved into and excavator as a had to case and proved myself. I have been there ever since...WITH NO HELP OR THANKS TO MY SCHOOL!!! Must be Blake. I have had the same experience with F'en school . No help whatsoever. They feed you a bunch of crap about how this training will help you land a job. We are and were fools for paying to attend this rip-off. NCCER stands for National College Credit Education Something or other. They don't promise that you'll get a job, job assistance finding employers looking for help. A bunch of bull. Just spoke with the trainers from that school they all left. Ah well live and learn. |
