Life is to funny Karl..... They tried to start me off with slave wages. I could not do it.
Actully, I was a bit aggressive with the "Bean Counter".... I said; "You know what,... I would rather stick bamboo shuts up my fingernails...than work for that"
It's all GOOD ! I have several other things going on, just like you.
Hopefully, being back with your original job is a good thing?

Stay Frosty !

Isn't there something that can be done about this? Its not right taking money knowing that they can't get jobs. Then you have to have experience which how are you suppose to get if nobody will let you work. I thought that going to these Heavy equipment Schools you would get a job after you completed the school. But after the school was finished they didn't care about you getting a job. Its a shame that they are allowed to have the school and then there are no jobs for the graduates and they have to pay all that money for nothing. It makes me very mad about this.

I would like to know about the job placements after going to the ATS school because there aren't any jobs around my area where I live. If there are they aren't hiring or they want experience.

I'm working for AT&T,selling U-Verse and, another construction Co. .. Want's me to est jobs for them?
The flooring job went to HELL, as you know... Plus, I have a few old customers wanting me to do some painting on a high rise bld.(22 stories)..well see if that is all "bull" or not, next week?
I really want to drive a truck o/o... but, no one is hiring new guys... which is funny as hell. I have rented my own equipment for years, and drove some "big stuff" w/ my Dad, many years ago, Plus I just have a natural nack for mechanics?.... If I where to drive, it would have to be with a small Co. But, that woulnt happpen... they want at least a year o/o experience. The Insurance Co. rule the world, and the trucking buisness.

Have a great weekend, pal

you got that right about the insurance companies here there trying to lobby for laws making all heavy equipment operators require a cdl to be insurable guess theres no more drinking beer from the tailgate after work cause a cdl holder can get a dui from .04 i wish these damn special interests groups would just go away and get this country back to the way it used to be,cant trust a damn soul now all politicians are crooked and all corporations run the real show

Fester,I get offers all the time to drive for England. You may want to check them out. Because if their wanting me to drive for them they must be desprite for drivers.Besides ,I haven't kept my cdl up for the simple reason of not needing it .This weekend I'm off to the California Festival of Home Brewers so my brain will be out of order for the weekend. You should go if you can.Have a good week my friend.

If you want to get ripp off why don't you try the Oklahoma School of Construction in Oklahoma. It's the sorry ass excuse I 've ever got to go back to school. They rob me $7,000 just to learn HEO-I.There curriculum is pathetic and I've already knew half of it.You spend less than 8 hours during the whole course in a machine and the rest sitting in a classroom wasting your time learning the difference of an extension cord and a hammer.
There job leads are way out of date.No one will hire you without a CDL.The job placement assintant program is useless and they can care less. These people are by all means disgusting robbers and they should be expose in public.

well said i paid $13,000 for school it has been since september and still no jobs.
everyone will only hire experienced operators.
i thought we go to school to get the experience we need to get hired.
but all it seems to do is get us in debt when they know we cannot get hired.

so they deffinatly need to get exposed for what they are doing.
where i went we got more seat time then 8 hours.
but we did spend a lot of our time in classes.
they cram so much information in you buy the time you get to the second day of the next lvl you forget all of the last lvl.
so what good is it really?

WE GOT SO RIPPED OFF BY NAHETS IN STOCKTON.

BUT THE EMOTIONAL RIP OFF HAS BEEN THE WORST ASPECT. OUR SON WENT TO NAHETS, BELIEVED WHAT HE WAS TOLD AND IT WAS ALL MOSTLY PIE IN THE SKY. IT HAS HIT US REALLY, REALLY HARD.

BUT THEY WILL GET WHAT IS COMING TO THEM.

I'm working for a painting company, they checked out my work with a brush & roller this week, and next week will be the same... Then, I'm off to bidding for them, the following week??
They, pay me 15 per man hr., and They will pay me 18 per man hr. by the months end... or I'm leaving.
I hate to sound arrogant... It's just fair

thankyou for the help, i trying to work out of virginia or georgia or new jersey first. I have a rep in those states. I live in charlotte, North carolina but it was slow at the time. And to pass on, a pipe company always hires operators. But, you have to have patience. and a grading company will kill for a good grader man. so, i pass on some knowledge to you as well. If you are looking for work in those states i give you the person to call. I am 7 on the list to go back to Jones Bros Excavation. I work with them before. I trying to get back with them and finshed the season with them.

I did not go but my son did and he hasn't gotten a job yet nobody will hire him because he doesn't have experience but how do you get it if no one will hire you. When I get enough people I will start it. I have never done it before don't know how many you have to have to start it. I will talk to a lawyer this week about it and let you know. Thank you

I realize that its bad right now but then they should also know that with no experience you can't get hired out of the school. And they are still taking more people into the school knowing this is still going on.

its not having no experience isnt the only factor when hirng someone its there attitude and if they have the determined look in there eye to get the job done whether they have grit is what i look for in a newb, are they gonna be good are they attentive enough to learn quickly and take being criticized with a grain o salt get along with other team members basic fundamentals of character that will make them a good operator one day are they worth the risk and investment every new guy is a serious liabilty because the equipment is so damn expensive to fix not to mention the money lost for it sitting there if they tear sh*& up there not worth it but if they can get it done quick without tearing things up or hurting someone they are thats really the measure of a good operator how much can you get done correctlywith little down time as possible and not have to redo it and you have to balance it being an operator u know how fast u can go if you start overheating u know u gotta slow down a lil and just run steady things like that they just dont teach in school and your prolly not the only one that has tried to sue them im sure they prolly have a good arguement up there sleeve well anyways good luck sorry ou had to find out after the fact

If you are up to the task, you might research case law regarding
"TruckMaster School of Trucking", Whittier, Calif. I graduated in May 1971 but could not get enough time in anywhere until I joined the Teamsters in April 1973.

My brother in law tells me that TruckMaster was sued out of business by 1974 for promising work that did not exist. He does not know if it was the State or the students that sued but the fraudsters are gone.
