No shiiittt, what a switch that would be! Well I sure hope it does gain some momentum this spring. I dropped out of college three years ago for process plant technology because of my love for big iron and throwing dirt around. I was working full time laying pipe and running equipment when I got the chance, then doing online and night classes. Not feeling like the smartest move right now. We were fortuanate enough up here in ND to stay busy this year while it was slow elsewhere. Now it finally caught up to us. Oil drilling is hot though if anyone is looking for something like that. I'm gonna hit the rigs myself after the first of the year if nothing comes up. |

CHENEY IS THE BIGGEST CROOK OF THEM ALL WAKE UP !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! "Heavenly Father . . . We come before you today to ask your forgiveness and to seek your direction and guidance. We know Your Word says, 'Woe to those who call evil -- good' but that is exactly what we have done. We have lost our spiritual equilibrium and reversed our values. We have ridiculed the absolute truth of Your Word and called it Pluralism. We have worshipped other gods and called it multiculturalism. We have endorsed perversion and called it alternative lifestyle. We have exploited the poor and called it the lottery. We have rewarded laziness and called it welfare. We have killed our unborn and called it choice. We have shot abortionists and called it justifiable. We have neglected to discipline our children and called it building self esteem. We have abused power and called it politics. We have coveted our neighbor's possessions and called it ambition. We have polluted the air with profanity and pornography and called it freedom of speech and expression. We have ridiculed the time-honored values of our Forefathers and called it enlightenment. Search us, Oh, God, And know our hearts today; Cleanse us from every sin and set us free. Guide and bless these men and women who have been sent to direct us to the center of Your will, to open ask it in the name of Your Son, the living Savior, Jesus Christ. Amen!" |

as a matter of fact i have i rode my motorcycle cross country recently and ive seen alot particularly whats being built over i-40 where i-35 crosses a massive bridge just outside of oklahoma city now im no structural engineer by any means but the 40 is a major route and i 35 being the smaller highway wouldnt u think that the 35 would be a simple off ramps instead of a massive bridge going completly over the i 40 ? and infractrucure being beeffed up in this area like ive never seen for miles in both directions of this all the roads are being redone? why?theyre geering up for some major truck traffic and also the canamex highway hell they even got a website now as i stated before im a nobodt if im wrong noone will know or care but if im right we are in for some big change.....and by the way you kinda missed the point in the last comment the more important matter was people losing there rights and the country being more as 1 rather than devided and conquered not global warming or the trade highways |

things being done outside of legal peremiters and congress by our president and vice is a serious conflict of interests dont u think?thats treason on that level.if i have business interests in a certain dealings and i hold a political office lets say the mayor of a town and i use my politcal influance for personal gain rather then helping my constuence and renige on why they voted me in thats no good but on a presidential level its treason especially when it involves other countries without congressinal approval and when u lie to the people thats even harder to swallow especially when u get caught with your hand in the cookie jar damn man you get it now?do not lie to the american people we are the most caring giving nation on earth dont decieve of or pass laws behind our back in a slick lawyer like fashion and then smirck on national tv haha good ole boy club sh^%$ people are tire of the bull its not democracy when elections arent reliable anymore we have a corrupt friends in high place, freemason, good ol boy club network for a government now we are all being played it is not by the people for the people anymore and it will take years to reverse it if it even can be if we really wanted a border fence in place it would be up in a year or even less they are foot dragging because they know that in a few years if they get there way there wont be a border it will be yeehaww free trade and screw the rest of us now no offense karl but u kinda live in a bubble from the rest of the country ive live in ca for the last 20 years myself but i frequent nc and everywhere in between and i would suggest getting out of ca a little more offten and i dont mean your annual trip to vegas and look around and pay attention and seek truth and you will see whats going on in this country as 1.2 million jobs go away in 1 year thats pathetic....yea im alittle pissed |

read the iron mountain report written in the early sixties outlining whats happening today especially interesting how the gov would need a catilyst to launch the war on terror similar to a pearl harbor event so you see there havent been any attacks since 9/11 because they were prlolly the ones that did it there are way too many coincidences to just leave to a bunch of cave dwelling towel heads read the 9/11 commision report where rice said that they couldnt have even imagined an attack like this but a year prior they trained for this exact same thing oh yea baby its a coverup on a grand scale, there will be another attack when they think that this one has wore off and the people arent scared of the terrorist anymore i fear the gov far more than any friggin towel heads u need to do a little research i think and wake from this trance your in as many sheeple are and dont even think that our cia could not have manufactured this event they are the best and most deceptive and good at it theyve perfected it |

Karl the heavy equipment guy in Winchester, California said: To Aaron , Wow.. intelligent reply there Karl! Pat yourself on the back for that one. The problem is you confuse the word "country" with "government". They are NOT the same thing. The US is the greatest country in the world; on the contrary, the US government is one of the most corrupt in the world. People like Rick and I are more patriotic toward our country than you ever thought you were. America was founded upon anarchy Karl, not Big Government. You "my friend" don't know your american history very well. The freemasons took what was once the "land of the free" and gradually developed what we have today. An elitist controlled nation where the wealthy help the wealthy, and poor remain poor. The trickle down effect is a joke. As for your remarks about Clinton, thats your ill-informed opinion of the man, but to most people with rational thinking, he did more for the majority of the people in this country than any man with the surname "Bush" has. |

thats my whole point karl they were understandable evena moron could understand them not like your usual government reports like all the legal terms and useless bs that noone can understand, the 911 commision report read like a friggin novel like someone trying to sell a story which really is all the makings of a cover up on a grand scale with no mention of why cheney was in control of norad that day when thats not even his roll in a national emergency and no vice has ever taken control of norad or why the jets that were supposed to be guarding the country were sent to an exercise in nc 45 minutes away from the kaos or why everyone testified that they could not have ever imagined that new york buildings could be attacked by terrorists with airliners but exacly 1 year prior they trained for that very same scenario yea youve read it but thats the copy you were supposed to read with alot of details conveniently dismissed as of no great significance reaDS JUST LIKE A MOVIE SCRIPT LIKE THE AMEICAN PEOPLE ARE SUPPOSED TO SOMEHOW BUY THIS NOVEL I SEEK THE TRUTH UNLIKE YOU KARL YOU SEEK TO BE MISLEAD BECAUSE YOU BELIEVE WHAT YOUR TOLD BY THE GOV RATHER THAN LOOKING AT MATTERS WITH AN OBJECTIVE I YOU WILL NOT SEE FROM BOTH SIDE AND YES IT COULD VERY WELL HAPPEN IN AMERICA god bless us all |

A terrorist attack on American soil of the size and nature of September 11, would lead ---according to former CENTCOM Commander, General Tommy Franks-- to the downfall of democracy in America. In an interview in December 2003, which was barely mentioned in the US media, General Franks outlined a scenario, which would result in the suspension of the Constitution and the installation of military rule in America: "[A] terrorist, massive, casualty-producing event [will occur] somewhere in the Western world - it may be in the United States of America - that causes our population to question our own Constitution and to begin to militarize our country in order to avoid a repeat of another mass, casualty-producing event." (General Tommy Franks Interview, Cigar Aficionado, December 2003) Franks was obliquely alluding to a "Second 9/11" terrorist attack, which could be used to galvanize US public opinion in support of a military government and police state. The "terrorist massive casualty-producing event" was presented by General Franks as a crucial political turning point. The resulting crisis and social turmoil resulting from the civilian casualties, are intended to facilitate a major shift in US political, social and institutional structures, leading to the suspension of constitutional government |

How to reverse the tide? The threat of a Second Al Qaeda "Attack on America" is being used profusely by the Bush administration to galvanize public opinion in support of a global military agenda. Known and documented, the "Islamic terror network" is a creation of the US intelligence apparatus. The "war on terrorism" is bogus. The 911 narrative as conveyed by the 911 Commission report is fabricated. The Bush administration is involved in acts of cover-up and complicity at the highest levels of government. Revealing the lies behind 911 would serve to undermine the legitimacy of the "global war on terrorism" which constitutes the main justification for waging war in the Middle East. Without 911, the war criminals in high office do not have a leg to stand on. Their entire National Security construct collapses like a deck of cards.

face the fact that this country was built by unions, and now it has been destroyed by unions. what the big 3 should do is file bankruptcy, chrysler should go away forever, let gm and ford restructure and fire every single member of management and every single union member. then, bring them all back in and let them know their salries and benefits, which should be what everyone else who works for a corporation gets. no more big hourly wages and ridiculous benefits and months of time off. no more big executive bonuses and golden parachutes. if you can't produce, you can't have a job. it's time this country wises up and gets back to basics before we wake up in canada one day. if you don't want to work hard and take pride in your work, go be a loser in venezuela or somewhere else. |

Karl the heavy equipment guy in Winchester, California said: Make that two pissed off Americans, Karl that was pretty damn funny !!! After reading every post here I've got one thing to say to the ones who wish to break into this field of work, go to school. The future of heavy equipment operators, as we know them, is rapidly taking a different path. Caterpillar is already working on systems that WILL be controlled via satellite and someone sitting behind a computer with a joystick manipulating the machine. I'm 51 and have literally operated heavy equipment my entire life. My dad used to build logging roads and my first memories are of sitting beside him on an old Cat D8-2U cable dozer. I started pulling levers when I was about 5 years old. I can proficiently operate anything from a tower crane to a pallet jack and everything in between. I worked on the Alaska pipeline for 20 years and in various other parts of the world, in other words, I know what I'm doing. Now lets get back to my comment regarding the future of heavy equipment operators for those wanting to break into this field, go to school and learn how to run computers. Call the any equipment manufacture and ask to speak with their R&D (research and development) department and ask them about remote controlled heavy equipment operations. That's where the future is. |

I saw one in Japan at Komotsu and the guy running the excavator, in Japan, was actually in India. He was running it ALL by remote !!! I've contacted Cat and am trying to get into this new tech because as I've said, it's the future. Final note to ALL of my fellow operators out there, you need to learn this new tech that's coming out before they farm out the jobs to a third world country computer geek. |

i was on a job in nc with a trimble gps system on the finish cat the thing worked great all the grades for the job were programmed in but the only thing wrong with this is that the foremans rely on it too much and replace the grade checkers with it and dont set stakes,so everyone else on the job didnt know what the hell was going on except the dozer which is fine but you still need boots on the ground directing scrapers and setting wood unless u want everyone stopping the dozer whit the gps asking him where to put the dirt even thats fine but when u got 8-10 scrapers going ona fairly flat project things tend to get a little screwy |

Karl and Fred, I went to Tomahawk, Wisconsin last February to the Case proving ground. We got to check out allt the prototype equipment and stuff they had on the drawing boards. Some of the things they were coming out with was a backhoe with rubber tracks and remote excavators. The thing with this remote stuff is that you can't have a machine running around unmanned. Look at the agriculture equipment piloted by GPS. The machinerey is guided on course for more efficient runs, but there is an operator in there to make adjustments and run the hydraulics for the implement. I could see this being used for scraper runs, but I can't conceive an excavator being remote piloted from somewhere off the jobsite. Maybe on a mass excavation, but how about the situations where the hoe is interacting with guys in the trench? This seems like it could be dangerous as heck! |

It is always better to have no ideas than false ones;to believe nothing, than to believe what is wrong. It as our duty still to endeavor to avoid war;but if it shall actually take place,no matter by whom brought on,we must defend ourselves. If our house be on fire, without inquiring whether it was fired from within or without,we must try to extinguish it. No government ought to be without censors;and where the press is free no one ever will. Thomas Jefferson |
