To Rick,
Would you agree with this statement? "If today I stand her as a revolutionary,it is as a revolutionary against the revolution"

no but in what context is the statement pertaining to a new country throwing out its leaders or new leaders turning against there country?

I should have put it as; Does this describe you and are you willing to be a revolutionary against a revolution?

The man who said this statement, said it at the sentencing phase of his trial. He was being tried for treason and for speaking out agaianst what he thought was a corrupt government. He organized people who thought just like he did,A group of "free thinkers" as he called them. They made a gallant but failed attempt to take control of the government by force. The government arrested him and his friends, tried and convicted them;but when it came time for sentencing, the judge took into consideration that these people had served there country and gave them the minumum sentence. Were they fairly treated by the government? And should the man and his friends be considered patriots for doing what they did?

To Rick in Newbury Park,
Do you think they were fairly treated by the government and should they be concidered patriots for doing what they did? Also take in to concideration that the judge took pity on them and gave them greatly reduced sentences. I am really courious about your answer.

Why is it that you guys are turning this thread into a political argument rather than trying to help fellow operators.

Just a thought.

To Rick
I'm trying to get you to use your head for something other than a hat rack.A few simple questions was all that I asked. You accused me of being a "sheeple" becaused I disagreed with your opinion of what the current administration does or doesn't do.The man that I used in my example spoke out against a government that he said was corrupt and full of cover ups (same as you) He called for its overthrow by force(same as your buddy Aaron) The only difference is
that he took it to the next level and actually tried it.When I tried to explain to you(nicely) that you don't know what actually
goes on(unless you have the highest security clearance possible).
You came back with more of the sheeple, exerpts from a report made by the same government you call corrupt and a quote from a dead greek.Oh and paranoia about marshall law enacted by something that hasn't even happened yet.In case you're wondering who it was I was
refering to.The mans name was Adolf Hitler! We have checks and balances in this country to make sure that we don't let someone like a Hitler,a Napoleon,a Stalin or a Mao come to power. The very last resort being The Second Amendment.A lot of people are real quick to choose armed conflict to fix whatever problems we may have
Just remember one thing,It's other americans that are going to be shot.Be damn sure you have ALL your information and FACTS straight
before you make accusations and call for an overthrow that just might start another civil war.And just like Hitler, bring an entire nation crashing down around you and everone else. And Fred,If this caused you any distress in any way I am sorry and I appologize. This is my last word on the matter.Rick have some faith.
crashing down around you.

I agree with you brother. The american youth rate #1 in self asteem, The Chinese youth have the highest percentage of students recieving consistant A'S in math and so on. USA #14. We have a lost generation that dont know how or even want to work. This country was founded on Gods word now they don't want anything to do with it. you have to contact the local 12 office and ask them when the next test is and sign up for it then u got to wait depending on how well u score is how long it takes to get dispatched by the looks of things it could be awhile your behind a long list of experienced operators i can tell u from experience your not going to go to work right away you can still persue it but u need to have something on the back burner till that happens

Operating engineers local 12 has an apprentice program but don't get your hopes up about getting into a seat any time soon. This economy is still a mess and the jobs are few and far between even for the most experienced operators much less the rookies. You could try local 12 but I wouldn't get my hopes up

Im at the top of the list up here with the OE3 and there is not crap going on been sitting for almost 1 1/2 years. Granted I drove truck for about 10 months of that to make ends meet. Try getting on with the wall and canal project that Granite and Kewit are working on out by Yuma and the Border.

Went from $60,000 a year (with some over time) to $24,000 a year (thats about $12 per hour). I'm union local 101, heavy equipment operator. I have 20 years exp. & am 44 years old & have seen these 20 year old "rats" that join the union and bad mouth the union, but they are the ones on the good jobs, including forman jobs. Can't understand it. My older "union all the way" friends and I are sitting at home without work and without insurance for our kids, while these young guys with no kids have insurance and jobs. I wish I had a place to move with work, I think I would relocate. I'm in Kansas now and there is no work. shanehfitz65@yahoo.com

mechanical apptitude would help but there really is no test to help u study the apprentice test is designed to see what kind of commen sense and mechanical ability you have and how your brain figures things out, questions like if gear a is turning clockwise while gear b has 13 teeth what will gear c do? not thaqt thats a question but when i took it ,thats what kind of questions were on it,and basic math and what not

wow is is it that hard to find work,,even after all of your training,,
seems to me that the unions don't have the work,i think a lot of the work is through the temp to perm agency's and thats in any trade,,not even government job agencies show any good paying jobs, they let temp firms advertise on there site for free, and then you usually have to pay to search for jobs on there site,,that sucks because we pay the taxes that run the state job shops.you may try tradesman international basically if you have worked non union or went through a non sponsored training program the union wont have you,,unless theirs a lot of work they cant cover, joining a union isn't that hard some will accept you just to keep you bound by a agreement,,but don't have the WORK
