Need Experienced Commercial HVAC Technician

Can anyone tell me how they have found good commercial expereienced HVAC technicians? We are in Mesquite Texas and in need of one.

I am a comm./res. hvac tech.And I just happened to see your post,I dont have very much school-but I have some,plus I have been in the field for approx. 18years still young as I started at 18.I consider myself one of the best,I cant tell you how many times I have heard many other techs worked on this unit and you were the only on to fix it.??plus I have been around and alot of the guys out of for ex:2/3/4 yrs. school and that does not mean they know what they are doing!!??!!??!!!!!
1st and most important you need someone that understands electric,and can read a schematic.
2nd this person must be able to think outside the box,along with extreme troubleshooting skills.
3rd must understand refrigerant flow/state at any given piont in the system.
4th which should also be under number one/ tech. needs tools I have my own but you need to have tools for them or a way they can earn them.
One meter might cost 700 or so.I could go on about that,but in a nut shell you will need much,much more then a set of gauges and some hand tools.
5th Mechanical skills! a good mech. knows how to put on gaskets,use neversieze,locktite and what a torque wrench is.
6th Proper recovery, evacuation,and brazing skill a must.
I could go on and on there is so much.
7th PAY THE MAN if you are billing him out at 100 an hr you CAN afford to pay him 25 hr.you are not going to get anybody good for cheap.
8th compose a complicated written test/or verbal.
There is much more but I just have to go,GOOD LUCK!!!

Offer best starting pay up front. Do not let him guess.At the same time let him know your expectations without being too ridgid about on-call duties.Technicians are out there,but turn away from contractors who do not bring out the best in them.
