I have been looking for a job in insurance. I have a license in P & C and have found and was told of the prejudice that the agent's offices have with candidates who worked directly for an insurance company. I find this to be absurd and disgraceful. The agents should be ashamed of themselves. The insurance companies have no problem hiring someone that has worked in an agent's office. Insurance coverages are the same regardless of the insurance company, the only difference I can see in the skills would be the software that is used to enter and maintain policies. So an agent would rather hire an unlicensed person and pay for them to be licensed than someone with the credentials.
Why is this so? How long has it been going on? When will this stop?
