My experience in the industry has allowed me a lot of advantages where commissions are concerned... I have too many insurance carriers available to list. You will write more business if you have the right tools to do so and the financial motivation. I'm really interested in getting more information. Do you know anyone in Houston that can help? |

Well, In the insurance business for 4 Entire months, I started with UGA, MEGA, Realized in a week it was a scam. Went to a local IMO, All they cared about was giving me 60% of the 100% of the 130% commission they were giving. 2 weeks figured that out and how to go independent. I started out without and lead sources and no book of business, and Sell for 7 different health companies, 20+ Life, 2 Supplemental companies and just started the commercial side now. We are pulling 20k a month in commissions. Of of our own generated leads. Not bad for the first 6 months in the Insurance business. We have 3 agents each focusing on one area, IE Group, Individual, and Supplements. Hopefully in a year we will have one of the largest local agencies in little rock. I will Help anyone do this! Not recruiting you, just pointing you in the right directions.... Its Simple if you Look past all the BS your fed! |

I recently passed my state licensing exam for Life, Accident & Sickness. After a little due diligence, I'm having second thoughts on training under NAA who is trying to recruit me. Brand new to the insurance industry and I can't get my license without having a sponsoring insurance company. Can anyone offer any suggestions or advice on where I should direct my attention for another sponsor? Need great training (obviously)!!! Thanks in advance! |

I will Retract the Scam part. but They did Disappoint allot of Great agents, And yes, I have tried them and Worked for them for quite some time. It's Not our directors that failed. Its the fact when they miserably failed their audits and took a huge rating hit is when everyone started bailing because they no longer gave the support that was needed to actually produce. But there is a new Ron Jensen business model company in the infant stage that will and Can do exactly that! And products that cant be touched in our market. Anyways, Sorry for the mis-illustrated picture grammatically drew.. I was in a rant at that point. :) |

I would like to comment on some new marketing for any insurance agent out there. I am able to get my insurance agency on the top page of google and over 100 different search engines under $100 a month. The little guys in the industry are playing with the big boys now. I've had over 100 hits in the past 5 days. Powerful advertising. Email me at fishsteel@hotmail.com for more info. |

If you are new, no one is going to train you for free. The schooling that you get to obtain your license does not teach you anything about how to actually go out and write business. Don't expect to get a top level commission if you require training but do be sure to get on board with someone who will allow you to eventually reach that top level commission once you are trained. My info is up top in this post. I stand by what I said. Make sure you talk to more than one person before jumping in. There are a lot of good people out there. Pick one that meets your individual needs. |

The key to making it in this insurance biz is training and leads. I give out contracts ranging from 50% to 90% - but I require that you attend training. I also charge for training you because my time is worth MONEY - so should yours be . . . My GrandDaddy once told me: "Boy - 100% of nothin' is nothin'" . . . My point is - If it takes you $1,000 in training fees and leads to get going to make $1,000 / $2,000 a week working 4 days a week - is it worth it to you? Or - do you find a 100% contract, still have to pay for leads, work 6 days a week to only get discouraged and quit a few weeks later? Selling insurance isn't rocket science - it's sales . . . Call contact me - Tom Coleman - for more info - indeed@insura-choice.com |

Hello everyone, This is great! I'm learning something new everyday. But what I want to ask those who have made selling insurance a lucrative career. Was it better to leave the companies that you worked for 5+yr or more just to start your own. And what advise can you give this soon to be newbie about how to be successful at becoming a fully license professional? |

|
Tom in Statesboro, Georgia 39 months ago |
Daryl, Credit is an issue with some carriers, and so is bankruptcy. However - it's not the end of the world. Here's how I do it for people that want to come to work with us that have credit / bankruptcy issues. I'll get you appointed and limit your advances for a period of time giving you the opportunity to "prove" yourself. Then - your performance will dictate your future path . . . With my company - everyone starts at the same level and is given the opportunity to "work their way up the ladder". Shoot me an email to - indeed @ insura-choice.com to receive more information. 4dallas in Dallas, Texas said: As a beginner you need to make sure that you get with a company or broker that will train you. Both have their good points and bad points. I have done both. It really depends on what you are looking for and where you want your business to go. As a captive agent there will be more restrictions placed on you and in most cases you will not be able to get appointed to any companies except for the ones your agency has. Research the different companies on forums and see what other agents say about them. I am interested in writing with many companies as an independant agent. Would you indulge me your knowledge of process. |

I have seen like 30 of these threads at www.insurance-forums.net/forum which has a huge section on getting started selling insurance. Bottom line is that selling is a skill that is highly transferable and if you are successful at selling mortgages, you should be successful selling insurance, provided you get hooked up with some good people and have access to a mentor etc... |

Have your guys tried any web-based insurance quote companies? Constructaquote.com, an online insurance quote comparison service dedicated to the UK SME market. They have developed valued partnerships with the UK’s leading insurers to bring you insurance cover tailored to your needs. Constructaquote.com differs to other insurance websites in that it offers true online comparison. We bring together the insurance products relevant to you and your business, so that you can arrange all the commercial policies you require in one place. The products on offer from their partners are varied, ranging from public and employer liability insurance, to insurance cover for your plant & material, van insurance and goods in transit. The simple search facility makes it easy for you to combine any number of policies to meet all of your insurance requirements. I think this is a good e-based company to work for, plus it's a 21 century - such an amount of job are based online that it's not a surprise for anybody now. Good luck! |

Lots and lots of top 10 producers from the past few years as well as people and agencies we all saw at convention on stage jan 2008 are there too. leads are cheaper, u lead cost goes down the more you sell AND there are NO lead overrides. There are some others that went to the dendy group, more and more people are contacting them daily. But dont take my word for it, just go ask one of those managers what they are doing now. Im sure you guys can find an email or phone number somewhere. |

What's the difference between a insurance Agent, and a Insurance Broker, are they different licenses one must obtain inorder to be a Broker, or it's the same license, maybe one has more expirience than the other, I'm in NJ, and it seems that both are the same is just one is independent, and the other isnt. Any feed back would be helpfull Thanks. |
