Self motivated. Determined. Outgoing. Don't bother trying to answer the assessment with "what they are looking for". I've seen two many guys do that and wind up with a job they weren't cut out for.

Yes, What do essential in customer service? Remember you are providing a service. Get their attention fast. Describe the product. List the benefits to the customer. Assess the customers needs and recommend a solution for their request. Always be clear, concise and correct. Allow them to ask questions and remember that there is a benefit for them.
