Too Funny! You must be really naive or never met Hilda!! You actually make her sound like a perfectionist!! A "professional"?? On the contrary! Didn't you notice that many people who commented here didn't get fired but quit!?!? Watchdog after 1 month, myself after 5 years! I couldn't compensate anymore for the total chaos, lack of organisation and incompetence in that company. Do you know what it's like to never get paid on time, or the wrong amount, to have your boss cancel your complete house installation the day of because she suddenly decides she needs the trucks for herself?? Or try to explain to your client that an item that he paid for in full and that was just waiting to be delivered got sold again by the owner of the company to one of her own clients? How about ordered items to be on hold at the factory while your customer is asking about his delivery because there are unpaid invoices??? Maybe you should keep your advise until you know what you are talking about?

I think it is very interesting that u base your life off of this experience. When a professional looks at your reviews on here, it will make u look very unprofessional and many people wknt hire you. Life is full of unfairness and hardass bosses, I have worked for my job for 2 years and I have a boss similar and so does my husband. My point is that by all these rediculouse comments for the world to see makes you look bad. My best advice for you is to delete your pointles posts and get over it. Use your negative experience positively and put yourself out there to do better because at the end of the day we ALL are here on this earth for the same reason...to die in the end, so lose the pesimist attitude and google optamism put a real head on your shoulders and quit waisting your time.

Attitude like that will get you NO WHERE in life I promise. Real people who actually care about how they look in life and the professional world, shrug a bad experience off of their shoulders and move on, that is why you see so many successful people out there in the world. Do you ever wounder why you may not be one of them? Do you every wounder maybe why she treated you like that? Have you ever thought that you attitude in life will affect the way people treat you? Its possible that if you had that attitude while working for her and basically what comes to her mind is that you are waisting her time. Because working for someone you are representing someone, hence the fire and rehire, my husbands boss has gone through over 20 employees for his business in the past year. The reason why, is because all of the workers can not hold up to his expectations, they dont care that he has deadlines, they dont care that he has a reputation to hold, he is a successful man and if you are going to waist his time, you are gone. Last reply. Why are you on this forum? Those of us who were employees know Hilda and the kind of person she is. You did not work for her or know her, so you have no authority to speak about her. I was so excited to work for her in the beginning. I am professional and always go the extra mile to help out co-workers. After all, we are there to help the owner with her company. I personally have witnessed the abuse, the utter disrespect towards her employees who were trying to do their best for the client. She had the BEST employees but it didn't matter to her. I saw her fire her assistant who had just come on board after lining up daycare for her child. I heard her tell her manager to fire her because she didn't have time to train her. Would have been nice if she had mentioned that in the beginning. Talk about a hostile environment! She's an awful person, as many people know. Just not you. When so many people are telling you the same thing, you should listen.

What makes you think we are not already in life where we want to be?? You sound very young and I think I'm a lot older than you, have been everywhere, done everything and I'm happy to be where I wanted to be. I'm not looking for a job, I don't need to or have to work anymore....I was one of the pets, I actually liked Mrs. Flack and we got along well, but life is too short to get stressed out. I wasn't going to waste my energy to compensate for the chaos, incompetence and lack of organisation in that company. You are too inexperienced to try to lecture us. I never posted anything negative, but I can understand people that do.

OK, OK, I've been reading all this banter back and forth.. And I finally have something to say, because this has broken down to a pissing match between ex-employees and a "client" who thinks Mrs. Flack is wonderful.
Well, I'm glad to hear "Captain Herb in West Palm Beach" & "Customer in Boca Raton" are singing Hilda's praises.. FOR NOW !!!! But when the trouble begins, And trust me, it will !!!! I hope they are good at eating their words... and will be willing to come back to this forum and appologize for their mistakes in trying to raise Mrs.Flack to a level she does not deserve.
Granted... Mrs Flack does have an eye for interior design... as long as you want your interior to look like a Posh House of ill Repute... or a Grand Hotel Lobby in some far away place only a Disney set designer could think up as a back drop for a cartoon about a princess and a geni in a bottle.
As for Mrs. Flack as a person; Hmmm... let me think a moment about some of her more commendable attributes....

Oh... I know, I always liked when she would call me "Honey"... but then I was clued in to the fact that she identifies as a "southern Belle"... and if a "southern Belle" calles you "honey", you best be sure, what they are really meaning to say is NOT nice at all, but being a southerner, and a lady, they wouldn't dare call you anything but "Honey" when they are not happy with you.
AND while I'm thinking of it...She is completly Diluted if she thinks the skin tight stretch pants and way too tight clingy tops she wears are attractive on her sagging A@@ and floppy boosome. No matter how many scarves she throws around her neck, or drapes over her shoulder, they will never be enough to give the illusion of slimming beauty. Mrs Flack was never anything but awful to her husband, Dr. Flack. He was such a nice man, and she treated him like a piece of garbage in the gutter. Even when he dies, she didn't seem phased at all that her husband was lying cold in his coffin while she was greeting her "adoring" public at the grand opening of her new Atlanta Showroom.

I was there when Mrs. Flack hired a consulting agent and staff to help her market a big "sale" in her West Palm Beach Gardens showroom. Her prices where over inflated so she could make it look like she was haveing a legitimate sale. When she decided she didn't like the consulting company telling her what she should do with HER business, she basically told them to leave, that they were not welcome in HER showroom!! What was the sence of hireing a professional for advice if she was only going to get mad at them and kick them out ???? She IS crazy !!!!
What about Mr. Kelso ? She keeps him on a "leash" and treats him as if he is her personal "lackey"... and from what I was begining to see that last time I worked in her showroom... she is now training Mr. Kelso's son to follow in his footsteps.
Don't even mention Jane to me.... she is just VILE in so many ways !!!!
Mrs. Flack's head swelled when she was hired on by Drexel Heritage to handel the accessory lines they were introducing way back when... and now she still thinks she is ALL THAT & A BAG OF CHIPS !!!

Really???? I searched on facebook and couldn't find it! We always joked around about starting an ex-HF-employee support group, some of us stayed in touch.

Her ideas and items in the store are what we were looking for and will help ua create a wonderful retirement home. I notice the notes above are from a few people and we ourselves have suffered at the hands of jealous and vendictive people and find all the comments totally absurd.

It has now been two months since we hired Ms Flack and I could not be happier. The damask on the walls, the paint and the upholstery are all stunning. We are waiting for the chairs both inside and out that we designed and Ms Flack had created but I have seen the photos and we are very happy.
I would like to post pictures here but I can not and while I am sorry some of you had bad experiences but I ran a company for 34 years and you can not keep everyone happy and sometimes you can not make anyone happy. I wish all of you well and as I enjoy our new home I will not be bothered by all this negativety.

I worked for Hilda Flack Interiors back in 1997 when they had their location on Cobb Parkway in Atlanta. I can attest to everything they say here is true. I know this is an old positng. I watched her favor her special designers and essentially bully/insult the newer designers. Their pricing was so incredibly overinflated (for their SALES, they would have me price the items at 3x their cost) and honestly, she was a very odd duck herself who would show up to the store in sweats, work out in her "office" on her gym equipment, where she spent most of her time with the TV on and one of her favorite designers. It was rare for anyone other than her two "special" employees to be allowed into her inner sanctum. I quit after 3 months...I just happened to come across this when I Googled her to find out "Whatever happened to...?"

What astounds me, in retrospect, is how God Awful her showcase rooms were. On her old website, the photo gallery reminds me of some vintage brothel or the decorating style of a nouveau riche society wanna be who thinks that more is better. She calls herself a Southern Belle, but no true woman...no Southern woman with and ounce of good taste and style would have her over the top, jersey shore/bordello style of decorating grace their home.

She had a sidekick designer, I think her name was Jane or something like that, who was just as horrible as she was. There was a manager there, I think his name was Brian (this was 15 years ago) who was a nice guy, but SO under her thumb it was almost sad to watch. I know I was only their receptionist, but watching how she treated her younger designers (many of which had true talent) was really eye opening. After seeing some "recent" photos of her on the web, I am truly amazed at how the wonders of photoshop, massive plastic surgery and some really bad wigs can manage to make her look even more drag queenish than she did 15 years ago...

I was the receptionist too. Apparently, they couldn't keep them very long. I remember Brian. I don't know why he put up with her. She was just so mean to him but then again, you teach people how to treat you and he let her do it. Whatever she paid him, it wasn't worth it. I was telling my son about Hilda and he said, "I guarantee you she was tortured as a child." Maybe she was but still that's no excuse to abuse your employees who are just trying to help you run your company.
