Have you bought the building already? Is it already a restaurant and you are going to remodel it? It sounds interesting? Not sure but by French/Asian/Colonial to you mean luxurious fabrics and color yet clean lined simple furnishings? Casablanca type look?

No, i didnt buy the building but just the restaurant ( We are still negociating) and yes it is already a restaurant. But it doesnt need a lot of wok to get to my idea. Just make it older, bring some nice antiques, good color scheme....
The influence should be, french bistro and asian at the same time...use of wood , bamboo, rattan ....
Thanks for your interest

Dear Nadj,
I don't know if you are interested in a Designer from out of state. If so let me know. I am available to travel weekly and do so often. I have worked in the field 20 years in both Hospitality and Residential Design. My website is www.designstudionapa.com it is not extensive as it is just for contacting me. I get all my jobs from referral and I can give you a list of references. I've done restaurant remodels, racetracks, fitness clubs, nightclubs, and a lot of high-end residential. I could create concepts for you. My only concern with being out of state is that I don't know local tradespeople to help refer them to you. Do you have a contractor already? with the right team things can easily be accomplished online and with only a few meetings. Let me know if this interest you at all. I would like to see a floor plan of the space if so, and remember lighting is really important for mood. Peoples eyes almost always tend to notice light fixtures first then furniture. If you are interested let me know. Thank You, Becky Schultz/Design Studio

Hello,
I am an interior designer in NYC and also manufacture all my own custom furniture overseas. I could definatley help you out with the designs as well as have all of the furniture made for 1/2 the price you will pay anywhere else. I have been wanting to add a restaurant to my portfolio so it is ok if your budget is limited and if my fees are lower. Please look at these links to see some of my work. I can definatley give you the style you are after even if my portfolio is a different sytle than you might be looking for. You can email me at
hw_idesign@yahoo.com for more info. I look forward to hearing from you!

Your work is amazing! My name is Nichole. I hope you don't mind me asking you this, I have thought for along time about becoming an interior designer. I have been discoraged with the information I have learned sugesting it is very hard to make it in your industry. What do you say to something like that? I am 35 years old and looking to return to school. I even have an apointment set up for today at a near by college. If you had to do all over would you still study Interior Design? Why or why not?

I would do it again, without a doubt.
My story:
When I was a young boy, I was always drawing, and painting, and doing all types of cretive like art since I was a small child.
When I was around 12, my older brother who was an Interior Architect/Interior Designer, took me aside, and told me he hoped I would grow up to be a famous artist, but, if I didn't, he would show me something creative I can do to get paid, IE: Design, and then he started to apprentice me to design, and to draft, etc..., He basically brought me up to be an Architect, and even more exciting, to be a Interior Designer.
Architecture works with building shells, and it is about as interesting as mud and worst of all, 1 in a thousand architects gets to design, and the rest draw drawings to build the building. Interior Designers, for the most part, all get to design.
If you are artistic, and have that born creative spark of passion in your heart....Definitely be an interior designer.

Of course, with the economy as it is today, there is little or no work for us, but by the time you get out of school, Obama will have fixed it, and you will be OK !.

One more question, I have heard Interior Design is very cut throat. Is that true? Although I have a passion to persue this field, I am not a cut throat kind of person. I am a feeler. I like to feel people out and see if there is a conection and mutual interest. What do you say to something like that?

Thanks Jerry,
Nichole

With that said, and being totally serious...Does anyone have any work out there for an interior designer who specializes in Restaurnats, retail, and hotels ?

@ Nichole,

Not all Interior Designer/ Design is about cut-throat trade.
It is sort of true but does not apply to all.

For me, I'll like to visualize myself as part of the client's biz as a designer. I would want to help the get the best output and saving matters they could afford.
Just like you said, mutual interest.

At the moment, we're designing a healthy lifestyle restaurant.

Cheers!
Regards.

I am starting a high end dessert restaurant in Birmingham, AL. I am in need of an interior designer who specializes in restaurants. I am trying to achieve an atmosphere of luxury, luminious, chic feel. Im still in the beginning phase, but
hoping for a fall opening.

And For Dessert will be an upscale, dessert restaurant that will serve decadent desserts, wine, premium liquor, speciality dessert martinis and light appetizers. When you walk in the door, the decor will be something out of a chocolate dream. The seats will be plush like moist cupcakes, the lighting reminiscent of a room full of candles. Off to the side will be the ultra, luxurious bar with a fire pit and plush seating all around it. When people come to AFD they will be escaping the cares of the world to get lost, if only for a moment, in the decadency of dessert heaven.

Please inquire at andfordessert@gmail.com

Only interested parties please inquire. Thanks you!
