from my experiance a typical It Director Job in the Greater DC Area will range greatly in Salary. I have seen postings or talked with companys who only want to pay 55-70 grand for a director with 10 -15 years experaince and the skills to match. needless to say one such posistion has been posted many times in the past year. a more typical and more realistic salary would be in the 110 - 160 K range depending on the type of business and location. to demand such a salary a canidate should have the it hands on experaince with the leadership and political know how to boot. in to days economy a typical it director wears many hats from project manager, tech laision to the CEO, to working the help desk. be prepared for long hours and longer weekends. john |
