What is the best training for becoming a job coach? What types of ongoing training or certifications are necessary to be an effective job coach?

What do non-traditional career paths look like?

I would say that the best knowledge base to have for becoming a job coach is knowing as much as you can about the individual with a disability, and how that disability affects their overall life each day--from work to play to home life--because one area overlaps another to make up the whole individual. It means having knowledge in the health field--whether that is psychology, sociology, social work, or a human services field. Ongoing training is provided both in-agency and through registration in community workshops or classes. Job coaches are not usually "certified," but rather skilled professionals who are trained.

Where would I go in a school or school district to find a job as a job coach. I currently work with two small children that have autism.
