Are jobs in this industry on the rise? Are there any sub-sectors that are growing?

Where are the jobs? Which places have the most journeyman plumber opportunities?

Jobs are on the rise for plumbers. The younger people now want to work with computers, medicine, etc. and not with their hands. In just the 7 years iv'e been doing it the avergae salary went from 41,000 to 65,000 a year.

Sub-sectors that are definite money makers are hvac and Med gas. Hvac is a luxury so you can charge any amount and people will pay. Med gas is a highly sensitive specialzation that requires years of training and federal certifacation, so you can again name your own price and they will pay. 22,000 med gas certified installers in this country and 13,954 hospitals; you do the math.
