My best advice for those looking into being a Probation Officer is to apply everywhere you can. Beef up your resume to include volunteer work with kids (YMCA, coaching, etc). Understand that a lot of the work is not out making arrests and law enforcement oriented (depending on the department, some are more law enforcement oriented that others).

Just got done with my interview and I was not able to finish the written essay portion of the exam. I wrote two out of the three points. I need your opinions guys. How much you guys think this will affect my chances to move on?

The questions will be based upon a situation that you may have encountered and that you will have to analyse and make recommendation.

I did not complete the interview I got sick and had to reschedule.
