In many areas with growing populations (like Las Vegas, Florida, Carolina, Arizona) there is a high demand for teachers.
In other areas where population isn't growing rapidly (New York City, Chicago, Michigan, Buffalo, Cleveland, New Jersey) it's a very tight and competitive market.
All areas usually have openings in the harder-to-fill school districts like inner city schools and private schools (which don't pay as much).
