I recently passed my clinical in Mansfield Ohio, they have a very nice facility and even though it was an intense test, I passed first time. you have alot of time to find a way to get to the cpne--don't worry about it now. just focus and complete the testing first. How did you find someone to tutor you with the clinicals? What was the experience like? |
|

From a friend who had failed the first time and desperately searched for someone else on the internet. It was awesome. She was a CE for Exclsior for 18 years so who better to get you prepared. |

I would be glad to tutor someone for their cpne--I live in Michigan and could set up the labs in a motel. I have copies of the pcs recording form. I have the exact wound, used at the cpne. $150 could be the difference between failure and passing--e-mail me nursesareoverworked@yahoo.com |

On the Excelsior site it tells you what materials you need & gives you an outline of what subject matter is needed. I can't afford books. I barely can afford the tests. So I go to my town library & they have borrowing policies for the college libraries & they get the books for me. They're not the same exact book but the subject matter is usually the same. I also check freecycle. www.freecycle.org lots of people just give their books away. |

thankgodits over in Cape Coral, Florida said: DONT do pre-requisites through Excelsior. they are too hard and almost impossible to pass by self study and one test!! I am talking the microbiology and a&p 1 & 2. I did them online through a class and transferred the credits into Excelsior. Just my opinion, but i tried to study that and after the first three chapters i couldnt pick the book up, and the information is so difficult i found it hard to pass a test because they cram a&p 1 and 2 into one test!! I gave up and did it through Miami-Dade college online where there were projects, papers, and participation added into your grade. yes most classes for a&p are broken up into a 1 & 2 but they give both in the same test. I found that difficult. |

Linda I went to Mansfield inn 2010. I would say be prepared. There were people there that did not pass. I passed the first time. But , I knew every detail of the study guide, I did go to workshops. I failed the first time in Wisconsin. It is not easy. I passed the NCLEX easily after the CPNE. But, study. YOu never know who your CE's and CA will be, one weekend everyone may pass and the next only 4-5. I was in Mansfield with two guys it was their third time. I saw them leave one very distressed, the other, did not say one word. It is a test. Study, it will only help you be sure, practice. The CPNE workshop is good to help you know what is expected. There are others SheriTaylorCPNE.com in Georgia is an excellant resource. However Georgia does not recognize Excelsior College. But Grady Hospital in Georgia has the clinicals. Practice Practice , Practice ROB's CPNE . COM if money is tight has videos, ebooks and practice information online. He uses mneumonics and a grid to help you remember. Order the CPNE practice kit , do the online workshops. DO not go blindfolded. You can pass. But remeber if one person thinks it is easy, it might be because they were prepared. IF the next one says it was hard. Ask how much did they prepare for the CPNE? Practice makes perfect. Your state board of nursing will list school out of state they accept, it only a phone call away. Best wishes |

I did it , it works, it takes time and lots of hard work. When you pass all the tests and the CPNE. THE NCLEX will be a breeze. Good Luck 2010 Grad. |

Thank you so very much for your words of encouragement, I'm an LPN for 6yrs now working on a surgical unit at the V.A. Hospital in Washington, DC, I'm a wife & a mother of 10yr. old twins & a 2yr old son & working full time. But I was really confused before I read your comment, I think I'm going to do the Excelsior LPN to RN. I already took all of my pre classes so hopelly, I'll find it doable with effort & time put into it. Once again, thanks a bunch. |

Linda in Muskegon, Michigan said: gladiola, I am an excelsior college grad and, I passed the clinical first time. before I went to the cpne, I set up a make-shift lab in my basement--I practiced everyday--I also made a dummy to practice assessmsnts on. I made up careplans and practiced all of this daily. I memorized neumonics to help me remember everything. even practiced washing my hands. I am sorry you had such a bad experience, but you have to do everything they way excelsior wants you to do it. Not the way you may have learned at another college. Excelsior is no more expensive than any other college. You can study and hold a full time job at the same time. I studyied, practiced, and went into the cpne with confidence. Linda Linda that is soooo brillant. I just started Excelsior College & haven't even taken my first test yet but I would luv sum tips on how u put a lab in ur basement & things u did 2 practice everyday!!! Im sure u were great @ CPNE!!! |

Sherrie Taylor may be someone teaching it but she is not hands on. She sends you examples over a computer and you send them back as far as care plans. I went to a woman who used to be a CE at Grady for 18 years and she had me ready in two weeks. I referred her to another girl in Georgia who had a week, and she passed first time too. Her name is Dora and she can be reached at six seven eight - nine three six - nine four five zero. She has you go to her home, with labs set up and has you run through PCS's with her so she is sure you are ready. If anyone is interested in the books, i have the complete set of Excelsior books needed for all classes, listed on a word document for sale. Email me at crazycool8@yahoo.com for info. |

thankgodits over in Cape Coral, Florida said: Anyone who wants a CPNE tips i wrote after I finished the CPNE send me your email addresses and I will send to you. its my experience and tips from a students perspective and would be helpful for your CPNE's. Again, dont go to Lynn's class if you are looking for a workshop. She is rude, and gives you half information you will need to go home and figure out. As well, she doesnt help with the recording portion or labs, she wants more money to buy her video's. There is a woman that doesnt advertise but used to be a clinical examiner at Grady that has retired and works from home to help students pass, she was awesome and had me ready in two and a half weeks. If you want info send me your email for that as well. Please send me the notes your wrote down after your clincal & the info on the retired lady that helpd you get ready 4 ur clinical. Thanks so much! robinsutherland82@gmail.com |

Does anyone have any info on this program . and I live in nj does nj accept excelsior credits for nursing exam . Hi I am a LPN as well and graduated about 1.5 yrs ago. What test are you preparing for? I was told I could take 2 test before I register but I was going to just review my notes from school although most stuff is still fresh. As far as does NJ accept excelsior call your state board and make sure. I called mine and they said yes. I still have to take Microbiology and started that test by exam thing and found that is not for me so I will be going to my local college to take that in the fall but in the mean time I will be taking those 2 tests. |
|
imgladitsover 3 months ago |
Well I have a friend in NJ who told me they dont like Excelsior there so check with you're board. If they don't accept it you can test in Pennsylvania and endorse your license in NJ. Also don't ever go through a third party for the tests. They charge three times the amount. I had a girl tell me she is going through college network and they are charging her like 38000 and I pail like maybe $10000 so that is a rip off |

Not sure the name of them but you can call they will tell you. I am preparing by reviewing my notes from nursing school. Do you still have yours? How long have you been a LPN? I would like to talk with someone that already did the program so I know what to expect. I am use to power points and lecture so I might be difficult. |

Would anybody be willing to discuss with me on how the classes work for LPN to RN. Are they structured? Or are they just like the test by exam structured? |
|
imgladitsover in Cape Coral, Florida 3 months ago |
You buy the books, follow their study guide, self study and then take the test. |
