Does being an LPN first make RN school easier?

I want to be an RN but since the waiting list is so long I am going to do LPN first. And work has an LPN while I wait. But I was wondering if this would make RN school alot easier. Which would be good. Has any of you taken this same path also? Did it help with RN school?
