There are several sources to chose from. The books that are recommended by Excelsior is great but lengthy in reading. If you can find a student that will make copies of Chancellor, Rue,College Network. Do not Do not register with these schools. You will be double paying. Hi everyone;
I commend you on starting the RN program but please choose a program which will be acceptable to all states. The main asset of an RN license is that you are able to practice any where in the world! Limitations are an obstacle. On the other hand if you are only able to do an alternate RN program please go ahead and do the best you can.
I am looking to start a tutoring class for nursing students (for an affordable fee). Let me know who is interested.We can tutor you in every aspect of nursing. from clinical to theory.

you study these notes? In a day? week? in total? Thanks.
Im tryin to do A&P but it just seems like so much information, its overwhelming. Excelsior suggests at least 135 hours of study time but that just seems like so much. I have scheduled my exam for 5 wks from now.
Any guidance would be appreciated.

I took all my college courses with Excelsior. I used the same A&P book I used in LPN school. In the study guide there is a outline/breakdown of the systems the questions at the back are sample question that are typical of what will be on the test. I just looked at the breakdown and applied it to my own book. This is a while ago, but I found the exam easy (passed with an A) not unlike LPN school. For the nursing exams I used my text books from LPN school. Whwen I took the nursing exams I took four in a two day period (two each morning and two each afternoon) passed all four 3 A,s 1 B - 16 credits in two days, not bad. The rest of the nursing exams I took at the BS level so I could apply them to my BS and found them even easier. I know when you first start it all seems very confusing but for me it was the only way to go - and it gets easier and easier.

Im taking A&P 2 at a college and it is very difficult. You need to take 3 hrs a day for studying if the course is hard the test has to be difficult, good luck

I never really studied the pharmacology part except for calculations, and that is what did me in- It would be great to have a study partner anywhere! I work full time, am a single Mom, run a house, etc. So my studying has to be mapped out carefully- which I have not done as well as I had hoped. From A&P to clinicals. I can do a clinical simulation with clinical situations to help you with assessment and the nursing process.

Advice to you is study one test @ a time. Transition to RN is not that difficult but tough need to know concept of events & terms used in scenarios.

There is an enrollment fee of $895, $20 application fee, and $275 for each nursing test except for the CPNE cost $2500 & $395 for care plan test. You are required to have certain prerequisite completed. If your prerequisites are not completed, you come completed them @ any accredited college then transfer your grades.

Yes, Annette, I live in Tallahassee, Florida and we can form a study group. I took my first exam with EC last month, health and safety. I failed and couldn't believe it because the exam seemed so easy but anyway let me know something.

It was just the material with DLSI was OUTDATED and INACCURATE. Practice exams had the WRONG answers and no rationale!

If you read enough on this board and the hundreds of others (including the ones you are not allowed access to) you'd find there are very few who praise your system. It appears that the people that signed up with TCN, RUE, Chancellor's and DLSI feel mislead as they were made to believe they had to go thru them to do the Excelsior program. You are all a bunch of scammers taking money from hard working people trying to get their education. If you really wanted to help them you'd direct them to the inexpensive and FREE resources they can use to assist them in studying for exams.

SHAME ON ALL YOU VENDORS THAT MISLEAD PEOPLE CHARGING THEM THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS FOR USELESS MATERIALS!!
