I need some help and clarification. I have emailed the AMTA and FSMTA (Florida State Massage Therapy Association) and I am still waiting for a response from the FMSTA (emailed 2 weeks ago). I wanted to know what is required for me besides getting transcripts verified and taking ethics/HIV prevention courses.
Thank you |

Yep, I'm originally from Florida too. My advice is to never ask anyone but the board of massage for advice. Native Floridians are bitter towards all the immigrants. So are the immigrants! Everyone has different advice to offer everyone. That's because they want to keep the competition out. Good luck! |

You need all you stated plus 12 live class hours. The renew date is Aug. 31. E-mail me barbetha@aol.com for more info and I will be happy to give you some good contacts! I am moving up to D.C. for the summer! It is very slow here over the summer but the season is nice! (November to April) |

I just went through the process of transferring my license, I am living in Gainesville now so there was the Florida School of Massage right in town for me to do all of my stuff at and if you are going to moving anywhere in Florida I think the first thing you should do is find the closest school and see if they have a person there that can do a Transfer of Credit if your school was not approved by the state, so that you can find out what you need to take, I had to do the AIDS/HIV and a 5 hour class on Florida Massage Laws, next print off an application for license they the FSMTA fill it out and send it in, taking note of the additional paperwork address and then call your state and have them send a License Verification and then go to the website for the NCBMTB and find the form to do a test verification, so that they can send it to the FSMTA. Call the FSMTA and ask for Brandi, she helped me alot. |

Hi Jennifer, Well firs of all you need to pass the National Certificaton Exam in order to get a Florida Massage License. So, I am not sure if you have that already. In addition you need transcripts from your massage school and the necessary CEU's in order to get a Florida assage License. Stuart Feinman, LMT 49878
